How to maintain and protect a denim purse?

Hello everyone!
I just got a light denim crossbody bag and it's my first. I want to know how you have all been able to maintain a denim bag from getting stains, and etc. I'm thinking of spraying it with a water repellent first? Unfortunately I don't have my Scotch Farbric Protector anymore and I only have this one: Penguin Water and Stain Repellent... it has a picture of a cap so im thinking its okay on fabric?Will post pics of this, kindly advise me if this will be okay to use on denim? TIA 😊






I also read that some people use baby wipes on denim bags for stains? What kind of baby wipes? The regular ones or the non alcohol ones? Thank you! 💜

hopefully someone with experience will respond here but I would think you might be able to put the bag in the washing machine and wouldn't need protectant spray

I think scotchguard makes one specifically for fabric and I would use that one. Yours seems to refer to leather shoes, and I don’t know if the active ingredients are the same. I would actually consider testing whatever you use on an old pair of denim jeans first. I’ve never washed a bag, but I think there are threads where other members have done so. Good luck

I did what you said and tested it on a denim patch first and guess what it worked! Did some more research in this as well and the Penguin brand is also for fabric. Some people have used it on jackets and caps and it apparently works really well. I sprayed it on my bag and so far so good! No issues with fading. Thanks so much for your help and input! It's very much appreciated ☺️
