how to ID a discontinued epi color?

I have a Noé GM from the 1980s in a lovely medium blue (kind of like a dark pastel blue, if you know what I mean—it has a bit of white in it). I took it to the main LV shop on the Champs Elysees to have the bottom replaced and get a new drawstring. She told me the color has been discontinued for some time, but that I was lucky that they still had the required piece for the bottom, and the LV shop at Galeries Lafayette had the drawstring. I left the bag with her (she said it would take 5 weeks) and went to GL to get the string. However when I got there, they told me the only blue the had in stock was called simply "bleu" and when she got it out and showed it to me, it was a totally different, darker blue. When I went home and checked my receipt for the repair, I realized the repair specialist had written "NOE EPI BLEU".

So now I'm confused, did she mistake the color? Does anyone here know what color epi bleu is? TIA!

If yours is from the 80s it would have to be the first blue, Toledo Blue. Actually there haven't been many Epi blues: I think only 3, Toledo, Myrtille, and the new Indigo. There is no Epi called only "bleu." She must have meant that only as a generic term.

Could you post a pic of your bag? I'm curious why it seems like a dark pastel blue, since Toledo was a rich medium blue.

There is an epi color reference here: http://forum.purseblog.com/louis-vuitton-reference-library/epi-color-reference-71195.html

There's been various blues over the years but I'd assume the blue they have in stock for repairs, etc. is the latest blue from the epi rainbow colors they released last year.

Thanks for the link, that thread is 21 pages long and I admit I got a bit confused about the different blues!

Strange, she insisted there was a color called just "bleu" and the order for the lace on the repair receipt just says "LACET NOE/TINOE EPI BLEU".

I'd take a picture of the bag but it's in for repair for at least another month...

i think Jellyv is right. I can only remember Toledo blue (gold hardware), Myrtle blue (silver hardware) and the new Indigo (silver hardware). I have both the Toledo and the Myrtle - very different blues.

is there a list anywhere that confirms the colors that came with gold hardware? i know that palladium started in 2007/2008, so is it correct that all pochettes + bags were gold before then? thanks!!

so the first palladium were grenade + cassis perhaps??

did everything work out with your repair?

Hi,I'm watching a blue epi noe on ebay, but I'm confused about the inside color of the bag, because some second-hand stores show the inside of bag in blue while some show in dark or deep grey, which one is fake or the blue one is refresh one?

I own an Epi blue Noé GM from the 80s/90s given to me by my MIL and the lining is blue suede in the same color as the Epi. HTH.

Lilac had palladium coloured hardware, way before 2007. Hope that helps.

What year is the bag you are watching from? The inside colouring could be something as simple as lighting or the lining colour may have changed over the years.

The date code is AR1904,I don't know this stands for which year,I agree with your point, maybe it's because of the light, but some show in total black of interior some show blue or light grey. The one I'm watching is blue or seem like light grey, but I searched one the yoogiscloset show total black of the interior,so I'm confused.

There are a number of Toledo Blue Noes on Yoogis. If you look at them all then the Petit Noes range from 1994 to 1998 and have blue interiors.

The Large Noes range from 1993 to 1994 and have either grey or nearly black interiors.

So I hope that answers the question.

Interesting! So my Large blue Noe with blue interior is from before 1993? (The color of mine is the original "épi bleu")
