I will be doing some traveling and visiting a few cities with H boutiques. I understand the return period is 10 days for bags. Are the boutiques super strict about that or does it vary from store to store? Have any of your returned bags beyond 10 days and did you have to beg and plead? The reason I ask is that if I buy a bag while on vacation, I won't have time to look it over and think through my decision carefully until I get back home. I certainly don't purchase with the plan on returning but sometimes, I do need a few extra days to ponder and see if the color looks good with my wardrobe, etc. I'm worried I might run up against the return period.

from what I was told its 3 months for everything now as long as its new with original tags and unused, and can be exchange at any hermes store. but if u want a refund u might loose the taxes and the price difference. but do double check at ur local h store

Strict. Stores also may not take back items they did not stock. Your best bet would be to talk to your own store and ask them if they are willing to be flexible.

it varies by countries from experience..in asia no refund! in london, the stand alone H stores are 14 days whilst H in selfridges and harrods follow the department store policies. Harrods is 14 days. can't remember for selfridges.

Recently a long-time Hermes client (a friend) was held to the 10-day rule here in the US, so it seems the boutiques are being pretty hard-line about this. And returning to a different boutique might be even trickier. This is just me, but I would not buy if I had the faintest inkling that I wouldn't want to keep the bag.

The policy has changed to 30 days and to clarify, it's an exchange or store credit in the US. Yes it's strict too. I'm just perplexed to why you want to buy something just to return it? It seems like a waste of time.

Interesting - the latest receipt I could find was Oct 27 and it was still 10 days. But I like 30 days MUCH better!! Thanks for raising this question and looking into it!

This.

However, since you are only getting boutique credit (vs. a credit card refund) I think one would have to have serious buyer's remorse to return a significant purchase. Personally, I would prefer the H product flow to be one way only: from the H boutique to my waiting embrace. ;)
