I remember Martha Stewart said her birkin was $1700++, that was in the 1980s when it first came out. Oh well.
She also said that she only owns one hangbag in the interview with Barbara...I would not trust her
Oh good lord. This is so frustrating. I remember reading an article in Harpers Bazaar about a socialite's love for Hermes. She told the story of how she came to adore this brand, her first and second brushes with kellys, how they elluded her and how she came to own an enviable collection. She mentioned that she and her husband were in Mexico on vacation and the value of the peso dropped significantly. When she and her husband woke that morning they hurried over to hermes and stocked up on a number of bags. She said it was like getting a birkin for half off. Painful!!
