I think the bejeweled evening bags the cutest darn things... I know a lot of women think they're strange and ugly, though. I want a peacock clutch! Like a little statue.

I wonder how old one should before carrying this. It seems like something a more mature woman would be suited for, but might seem... pretentious? inappropriate? unbecoming? to a younger girl.

you know, I just saw the all white crystal encrusted clutch evening bag and came this close to buying it. I think some of her things look a little older but some are quite cute! (the clutch was something like $2500.:amazed:

Used to sell them, and the crystals would routinely fall off. I do wish I'd gotten the minaudiere that looked like a stack of books. It was stunning, the price was lower than usual, and with my discount, it would have been slightly over $1,000. I think it was in the store about two hours before it was sold, and it was never returned like so many of the others.

I think it really depends on the Judith Leiber. Some of them would work, others wouldn't. I think that a young person with a certain amount of attitude could probably pull off a seemingly 'older' piece, too.

I do not think you need to be a certain age to carry a Judith Leiber bag. There are so many different shapes, colors, styles that you should just choose the one you like best. They are expensive so I can't see buying one that you don't like as much as another just because it fits the age you are at now. You will have that bag a lifetime. Pick the one you like best. There are also Judith Leiber bags for day. I just used mine this evening. I went out to dinner in Manhattan and wore brown suede pants with a silk sweater and dress boots and my Judith Leiber day bag. I got a lot of compliments on the bag.

Judith Leiber also has day bags now that are very pretty. I used mine tonight. I went for dinner with friends in Manhattan. I love the evening clutches! I don't know when or where I'd wear them, but I've decided that I must have one sooner or later. They look like such pieces of art to me. I'd just like to walk into the NY store and just stare at them (if that's possible?). They are exquisite...if I ever DID need an evening clutch for some fancy schmancy party, I'd definitely get one! But as I said, even if I didn't, I'd still get one once I've saved up enough.

Definitely get the peacock clutch and I want pics!!
It sounds really pretty.

I think this type of bag depends more on your lifestyle than age.
I'm considerably older than you but would have no use for a glittery little bag like this for evening because when I go out it's more casual. I may even be guilty of dressing a little younger at least in the accessories area.

Your quote: "I wonder how old one should before carrying this. It seems like something a more mature woman would be suited for, but might seem... pretentious? inappropriate? unbecoming? to a younger girl."
...I would feel this way about someone very young carrying a Birkin or a Kelly bag.
