I shower every day. But lately, I've been picky. I took a shower at 10:00 this morning, got out at 10:30, and finished getting all ready at about 12:00-12:30. Hair, makeup and all.

Well now it's 4:00 and I want to wash my hair since I'll be up really late for New Years. I'm not doing anything in particular except hang around here with my boyfriend. Lately I've been taking 2 showers a day whenever I'm doing something late, and I don't think it's necessary. It's TIME CONSUMING as well.

My hair just feels... not so nice after some hours and I'm wondering if anyone else is in the habit of taking more than one shower a day?

I take showers pretty often (at LEAST every day) but I can't wash my hair that much. For one thing, it looks dry if I don't let some of the natural oils settle a bit. Plus, I'd spend all my time doing my hair since is THICK and it turns out really wavy and poufy when it gets wet. So besides that, I also straighten it myself (I wouldn't ever chemically straighten since my hair is also colored) and I'd probably end up wasting time on my hair.
I just wash it twice a week and that seems to work out pretty well.

I agree with the above post, try a better shampoo. Washing your hair twice a day really can't be good for it.

Showering twice a day isn't really a bad thing, but no need to do your hair so much. I just wear a showercap to keep my hair dry and I usually wash my hair every 2-3 days and it works really well for me.

Just like lvbabydoll, my hair is also really thick and takes forever to dry (I mean FOREVER!) I think my hair would shrivel up and fall out if I washed it too much. What are you useing for products? Perhaps it's something that you're putting in afterwards that's making your hair feel a bit yucky?

Good luck

I shower daily but only wash my hair every other day. Some days I put it up in a ponytail for my shower, but others I'll wet it. I used to have to wash daily because of grease...but since I switched to better shampoos every other day is perfect for me.

I shower and wash my hair every day. Otherwise I just don't feel right. I've been like this since I was a teenager and it's never changed. I understand if occasionally you're going out at night and you want to re-wash your hair as part of getting ready for the evening. I do that too. To me, it's like washing your face again before applying your make-up for the evening.

i only wash my hair every three or four days usually. it sounds super gross but between the bleach, flat ironing, and natural curly/dryness it really doesn't need it any more than that.

i take two showers a day though. one at night, and usually one in the morning too. yeah. i'm weird.

it also could be that your hair feels not so nice BECAUSE you're washing it so much. your scalp oil is overcompensating b/c you're taking it all away so often. try putting some baby powder in it instead of washing it. the baby powder will absorb the grease, gives your hair body and makes it smell nice too.

I shower at least once a day, twice most days, but cannot wash my hair more than twice a week or it feels yucky.

My hair stylist loves that I don't wash my hair too often, it makes it much easier for her to color my hair knowing that I haven't washed it in 3-4 days and won't wash it again for 3-4 days after she colors it.

Plus if she is running behind (which seems too happen a lot) she can skip cutting my hair and not worry about split ends. In between scheduling issues and trying to grow it out from a too short style, I went 6 months without a haircut with no split ends and she swears that it is only because I do not over shampoo.

i only wash every 3-4 days as well, although i shower more often. my hair is also lightened, curly (and therefore naturally dry) and sometimes flat-ironed, and doing it ever day would KILL it.

I try to go a good 4 days between shampoos - I spend a fortune having my hair highlighted and to wash it too often shortens the life of it and dulls the color. Of course in the summer months when I'm swimming all the time, I have to wash it every day.
