How many users here carry their classic double flap on them at the airport?

I’m celebrating my birthday next week and don’t want to carry my tote, only my double flap bag and my carry on luggage. I have a small classic flap for reference.

Is there anyone who doesn’t carry their tote? Only carries their double flap?

I want to buy a Deauville by the end of this year or next year that I can bring with me on a plane.

I love the look of a Deauville carry-on sitting atop rolling luggage. The shape of the bag is so practical. Definitely looking to add one to my collection for travel!

My vintage maxi CF is often used as my personal item. Works great for travel. I don't like opening my roller suitcase so as long as you don't need your laptop/water bottle/bulky items etc, then your small CF should work just fine! And I always bring a dustbag to cover the bag when going through security.

Depends on where I am going and how many people I am taking. IF I am taking children with me I DO NOT carry my more expensive purses. It is just asking for trouble or a dent in the leather from a child who just doesn't think. A LV neverfull tote is a much more suitable purse for trips where I might be distracted at random times. When I am traveling alone or with DH I have no issues bringing my nicer items. He rarely spills food, and he won't step without looking and he doesn't require the extra " things" like diapers and wipes that take up so much space.

No children involved in this situation

I will normally use my xxl flap for travel or a deauville. I don’t find a classic flap very practical for airport travel but if I want to travel with them I will place them inside my rolling suitcase. A deauville especially medium/large size is super practical for travel and the beach - I normally will only use my darker coloured ones for the airport though as inevitable it will end up going through various security and possibly being placed on the floor.

I try not to pack anything underneath, so I need the capacity of my tote bag to store extra items when traveling. I do love the idea of traveling with just the small flap and a carryon though! :)

I always have a little bag crossbody to carry my cards, cash, passports, phone. And I always keep them on my body. And if I need a laptop, water, scarf, make up, I carry it in a LV on the go or a birkin which is locked in the overhead department of the plane. But still I try not to carry a heavy bag while traveling, I’m lazy.

So I’m case of emergency landing and etc when you’re not allowed to take your bags, still I’d always have my documents and phone with me.

Depends on the flight duration and where you are going but if you can fit everything in a classic flap and a carry-on, why not? I’ve traveled with my reissue and a carry-on and often wish I can do that more often, but it gets complicated for business travel when you have to bring a laptop etc.

I’m always worried about putting anything of value in the overhead bin if it’s not protected inside a hard side suitcase. Most people do not handle items with care and smush their bags in with whatever is already in the overhead bin. How do you deal with this? Do you just wait to put yours in until after everyone has boarded?
