How is ruthenium HW different from silver HW??

HI, all
I need your help here.
I have not seen ruthenium HW IRL and I was wondering how is it different
from regular silver HW.
Can anyone post a pic of a bag with ruthenium HW?
My SA sent me a pic of netallic black reissue with ruthenium HW yesterday but in the pic, HW looks way darker than I expected and I'm not sure it's due to lighting and flash.
I've seen a pic of a bag with almost black HW. Is that ruthenium????
Please~~ help me.

That's a great question and I would like to know too. I saw the reissue IRL and the hardware is darker. I don't think it is the ruthenium per se 'cause I've seen ruthenium that was lighter (more like regular silver) but they made the hardware much darker - almost black. It looks beautiful IRL!!!

I stole this picture from the Hermes forum, ruthenium is on the bottom left hand corner.

I just did a quick search and I believe this reissue has the ruthenium hardware.

I have the flaps from this season in both ruthenium and the silver hardware. Just coloring wise - the ruthenium is darker, like a pewter color, almost a gray tone. The silver is bright and pops beautifully against the darker lambs. HTH!

^Good description! My cream expandable has ruthenium h/w which is gorgeous against the light colored leather. It's exactly as goingindebt described - almost a grey tone.

yea ruthenium its just a lil darker than regular light silver! and its a lil xpensiver i dont know if it reflects on the bag but i do know that ruthenium alone its more xpensive than silver.

Yea, i wuld said it's like pewter/gunmetal HW like i used to own the 04 tweed medium flap in silver HW (but it's the ruthenium HW). Very beautiful. It's very different than the silver HW (such as my 01 purple medium, 07 red/blue caviar jumbo, etc).

i think the fall metallic black 2.55 (not striped) actually has black hardware, i saw it at the Toronto holt renfrew chanel boutique today and it's actually black, way darker than the ruthenium from previous seasons.

I have the metallic reissue with the ruthenium and it's a beauty! I have posted the picture here so I hope this is helpful. It's almost black but more like a dark grey. I personally love it over the other HW for this bag. I hope you're able to see it. I can always blow up the picture if you want a closer look.

Ok. I'm still a little confuse. Does the metallic black comes in three hardware or two? Silver, ruthenium, and black? Or is the darker ruthenium hardware the same as the "shiny black" hardware that I'm seeing the metallic black??:confused1:

Hi there!
Mine's the metallic black and I just got it last month. It's the reissue from the pre-fall collection. I'm not sure if they're making the metallic black with the other colored HW this season. I only know that the metallic black comes with ruthenium, which is like a shiny black/dark grey this season. I hope this helps!

I have ruthenium hw on my birkin and you really have to look closely to tell the dif between it and silver hw - once you do tho, you won't confuse the 2 again.
