I did not find the Marcie to be heavy, but mine was a medium size. The large size was definitely heavier when I tried it on but not bad. I guess it depends how much you carry in your bag too. Sorry if that was not helpful...

I don't find Marcie to be heavy. Maybe you are confusing it with Paraty.
