Hi guys. I'm interested in the Vavin PM. The all black one is very chic, but the tourterelle one is SERIOUSLY calling my name. Can anyone who has this bag, especially in the tourterelle shade, let me know how the wear been? Does the leather sag or crease eventually? Does the tourterelle color show staining and marks easily? How does the bag do in rain? And how much would I have to baby this bag if I got it?

Vavin PM in tourterelle is one of my favorite and most used bags. I absolutely love it! It sort of reminds me of the Chanel flap bag, minus the crazy price tag. I've had the bag since Sept 2018 and it looks great. No color transfer and I have worn it with a black coat. It hasn't lost its shape and nothing happened to it when it got rained on. The hardware does have scratches from the lock opening/closing, but you can't see it unless you open the bag. The only con I can think of is that it's a very long crossbody if you are on the shorter side. I'm 5'5 and I have worn it crossbody but it's not at my ideal length. The chain strap (even with the leather part at the top) hurts me on my shoulder if I'm not wearing a top with sleeves. Even with sleeves, it hurts a bit unless it's a thick top. As a shoulder bag, it's perfect.
Ooooh this kind of sounds PERFECT for me?! I don't wear sleeveless tops and I'm on the taller side at 5'7"! Thank you soooo much! This makes me much more confident in wanting the Vavin PM!
I love the Vavin! So much so that I own 6 of them (4 x PM, 1 x BB, 1 x Chain wallet). I use the PM size primarily as a shoulder bag and have had no issues with any of them showing any wear. I think it’s the perfect size and very elegant looking. I have the Tourterelle color and find it to be a great neutral. At first, I was concerned that it was too similar to the Vison one I already had, but I didn’t care. In fact, I plan to get the Chain Wallet also in the Tourterelle color when it is released in June. I agree with the previous poster that it reminds me of a Chanel flap bag without the crazy price.
That makes me so happy to hear! Do you think the bag is practical enough for daily use (and the wear and tear that comes with daily use)?
I would think so. Empreinte leather is pretty durable.
I’ve had the black since September and there’s literally no signs of wear. I was super nervous to wear it initially because I thought the leather would be delicate, but it’s super sturdy and well made.

@keokicat I am looking for a small bag for formal events. The nearest LV is 1.5 hours away and I have not been able to compare the Vavin sizes in person. Since you have the 3 smaller sizes I was looking at, which do you think would go best with a formal gown for weddings, military balls, etc.? I am also considering the Double pochette. (I can be forgetful and am looking for a small bag instead of a clutch, less risk of setting it down and forgetting it anywhere) TIA

I would say either the Chain wallet or BB size would work best for formal events. If you can pare down to just the essentials, then the chain wallet is a good option because the chain strap is removable. If you need more space, then stick with BB.
Do you happen to have a pic of the Tourterelle and the Vison together? I can’t tell online if there’s a significant difference. Just bought the tourterelle but I see a Vison available in resale and wondering if it’s lighter/pinker. Appreciate any input
Loving my Vavin PM, mostly. I added an organizer inside as I found it kind of collapsing on the top from the weight of the bag and the chain strap going through, when worn crossbody.
Instead of being rounded at the top, it is being pulled to a kind of V-shape on top. It is annoying me. Anyone else have that?
