Your DS is so sweet! I wonder if he got you the tan, red, or black? :P Bet the DH is having a laugh somewhere. Anyhow the infocommercial is so persuasive that I almost wanted to buy one. And it is indeed very useful! How did she fit the bottle inside after so many things?

I agree with everyone, wear it with pride and make sure you let your DS know you appreciate the gesture. None of the things I made/bought when I was a kid was ever used/worn, and I still remember how it upset me ("mom, why don't you use the jewelry box I made you in wood shop class? and dad, where did you put my clay ash tray? :shrugs:" :P) Still to this day I cannot get my mom something she'll show much appreciation for (I'm 24..) and I've gotten her anything from designer bags to sunglasses, I've actually given up :P So I def. think you should make sure to wear it a lot, especially to begin with. Hopefully he will eventually forget about the bag and you can go back to carrying your normal bags :P

What a touching story! My older DS, 5, will browse through Internet pics of purses and tell me which ones he likes and which ones he doesn't. It's cute! He got me a webkinz for christmas....lol, but think about it from a 5 year old's perspective--who WOULDN'T want a webkinz? Hermes, schermes...

I think its sweet they got you that. I saw the ad for it today and while it lacks the Hermes "look" and "feel" it was bought out of love. Now you have a bag to take to the places you wouldnt take an Hermes too

LOL I saw that commercial yesterday and was reminded of a commercial for a similar bag that I SO wanted to get for my mother when I was little! I never did understand why my Mom seemed less than thrilled with the idea!

I agree with everyone else that this is an adorable gesture from your son. It is soooo sweet of him to want to get you something that you will truly cherish (like a bag)! I'm sure you will be able to find some appropriate "kid" activities to wear it to! You are a very lucky lady indeed....the real gift is to have a son who loves you so much!!!

As an Hermes bag lover, I can feel for you. Your DS was a sweetie; I saw the same commercial and my DS was vividly watching it also. There is something about boys and that bag!!
I concur with everyone that you should use that bag in front of your son even if you keep a small kelly or other bag in the car to switch when far away from home. And of course let him know just how thoughtful he is. Next time you are at Hermes take him along too.

What a sweet son you have, Luv2. It's a cute bag, love all the pockets. Don't we all wish Hermes made a bag with lots of cute compartments? I do!! The twilly will look FANTASTIC on it. Great idea.

The earlier suggestion of using the bag for a while & pass to DS for his 'adventure' to the safari ....brilliant!

Sus, it could really be that you know, guys don't carry handbags, they take messenger bags ...and THIS with the many compartments ... to them ...is TDF !!! :graucho:

I remember reading about the bag organiser in the birkin or lindy ... well if this size fit into a 35 birkin, yeah, a bag within a bag.... easier for you to pick the buxton bag out from the car (without transferring stuff) ...

oh that is so sweet!

but re: your dilemna...if your children are still young enough could you use it on your stroller (i always had a bag draped on the handles when mine were little with snacks, toys, wipes, etc) or if they're older maybe keep it in the car? that way he'll see you use it everyday but you can actually carry something else...?
