How Far Would You Go For Love...How Would You Wear This??

I was totally going to buy one for my own mom! It's right up her alley.

How adorable of your son to get so excited over something. Rock it with an H scarf, especially during a trip to the zoo or something

I'd wear it till it fell apart. I have worn plastic flower and noodle necklaces, pins made w/pipe cleaners and glitter and bracelets made of, well, you name it! I cherish each and every item they have chosen and/or made because it was done out of pure child love for mommy.

No Hermes can compare..... ever.

If they didn't fall apart, they are hanging from my rear-view mirror or on a special "plate" in my bedroom (the plate was made by #2 son when he was 4). Just keep it with you in the car, in the gym bag, just use it. And smile. That's all you need to do to "wear it".

maybe dh wanted to see dw reaction.

:roflmfao: That would make him a VERY naughty DH. Mr.GGA would totally do that.

If I had a DS, and said DS bought me this particular bag, I would accessorize it with a twilly, a smile, and a quote from Friedrich Nietzsche playing on a loop in my head: "What does not destroy me makes me stronger."

I know that my mom did have the "what NOT to let the kids buy" convo with my dad, and it worked a charm, but YMMV, of course.

Although I'm being a little silly, I hope it comes through that I think your son is really, truly, rare and precious to pay attention to the fact that a) you like handbags and b) want you to have one. Some day he'll understand that Buxton and Birkin are actually NOT 6 of one/half dozen of the other.

Your son has a keen sense of how much you love handbags, and his excitement about this bag is simply the sweetest and most loving gesture. He probably sees that you rotate your Hermes bags, so perhaps you can designate this one for a particular activity that you do together -- perhaps, going to story hour at the library.

I second Rose. Wear it with pride for a little bit, fuss over what a thoughtful boy he is, then forever keep it in your closet so that when he's being a typical difficult teenager, you can look back on this phase with fond memories.

I look back and cringe at some of the things I gave my mom when I was young. They were so dreadful, but she wore them so proudly. Now I know just how difficult it must have been for her. It meant the world to me at the time, and remembering it still touches my heart today.

Sigh. Gotta go call mom now.

ETA: You might consider a private remedial course for DH on what NOT to let the kids talk him into. Just a thought.
ITA! What a sweet boy, L2S:tup:
My mom:heart: still has and uses a sugar bowl I gave her on Mother's Day when I was 8

You guys are such nice moms, maybe it was because my mom always wanted a daughter, and then got one, she can always find a way of criticising what I get her xD
I tell myself she's old and senile, but she's only 44. But yeah, wear it, and be happy wearing it, will mean a lot to DS

I think this is really very touching. He realizes that you have an avid interest in handbags and is just trying to give you what he thinks you would want and like. Perhaps he just isn't old enough to understand that brand differences. What a loving child!

Your DS is so sweet. Thanks saligator for the link. When I see it, I actually wanted one myself! :P I love how it has multiple pockets and can really hold a lot. It is amazing bag. I'd wear it especially if it comes from lovely DS. I wish Hermes would do something like that. I think it is more useful than a kelly danse. :P And I love small bag. Nice gift.

I think it's so sweet. I have a box full of macaroni necklaces made by my sons who are now adults. I wore everyone including the paper chain, very colorful.
Your son really loves his mom, treasure this Buxton before you know it they're grown. Then they have a secretary pick out a gift for mom.

Ah, great idea ILML! And you are the kind of client they would let design a bag!!! Yes! That's it! Have Hermes make one and they can call it the ICML (I Carry My Life)!

That is exactly what it is! I did tell him that some day he will make a wonderful husband. He was very touched to hear me say that! How did I ever get such a sweet kid?

OMG!!! GGA! That Nietzche line has me ROFLMAO!!!:roflmfao:

And yes, he really is rare and precious.

I wish they would let me design the bag for myself. This is the type of bag that is very useful when traveling since it's good size and really holds a lot, including bottle of water. Wondering where to put the toggle!!
