How does patent leather hold up??

So in my list making frenzy last night to get all my stuff ready ( my due date is this Sunday! :happydance:) I realized I can't drag my new purse to the hospital(eww germs and what if someone laid her on the ground?? ha) Anyway, it dawned on me I NEED a wristlet to put my essentials in like my insurance card, phone, id, etc and I can just throw my wristlet in the diaper bag that I am taking with us. I was looking at the grey patent leather wristlet and I love it. I'm a little wary though because I've never owned patent and I don't know how it holds up. The SA said she loves it because you can just wipe it down and not "baby" it as much as other things but I figured I would ask you fellow coachies first.

So what are your experiences with patent? Is it a good choice?

I second Dawn's congrats. on your baby! How exciting!

I'm a huge fan of patent leather! I find that it holds up well--can handle all weather conditions, spills, etc. I have patent Sophias and a patent Sabrina and I've never had problems with any of them!

Patent is probably the cleanest material ever, lol. It never even occurred to me to leave my purses at home when having kids tho, I always had mine with me when giving birth, usually there's a table, chairs and couch in the birth room, I always had a single room all
to myself and couldn't imagine going in without my precious purse and its million contents, lol. I would think it's germ free? But anyawys, patent would really be your best choice if you're worried about dirt and stuff bkz it wipes right off, even with antibacterial wipes.

I purchased the grey patent large wristlet and the ocelot mini skinny to go with it :). Question though, on the back there is crinkle spots like where the leather is "wrinkled"... Is that normal?

LOL, can't believe you remembered to think about your purse when you're about to have a baby! Best wishes on your firstborn, hope all goes well! :hugs:

I find patent easy to care for also. Was it the Audrie patent large wristlet you got? I love those, bought all 3 colors. I guess the wrinkling does happen on some of those, not sure if it's inevitable but I did notice it on the matching totes.

You'll have to post pics of your wristlets and your precious baby once you're up to it.
