How do you treat a cold?

If you can start them when you first feel the cold coming on, zinc lozenges work wonders. Sometimes I can fend off the cold entirely, but if I do get it, it isn't as severe and has a much shorter duration. I get the ones at Trader Joe's or GNC. Once the cold hits, soup (esp. chicken or hot-and-sour), liquids and rest are the best remedies.

If you have a sore throat, get some warm water and put in some salt. Mix it up and gargle it. Don't drink it though! The taste might be a little gross, but your throat will feel SO much better afterwards.

Ah, that's my dad's best advice: gargle salt water will kill the germs in your throat. Totally works for me!
