How do you protect your birkins

So my hubby got me a tadelakt birkin and I’m in love BUT I worry about scratching the leather. I’ve heard of this Instagram seller MyOuterBag and the bag seems to protect the bag when you are traveling and also allows you to use the bag strap if you need both hands. I also like that it’s clear so I can still enjoy seeing my bag. Might also be a better option to protect from the rain.

Has anyone ever used this? It’s only about $100 so worth it if it protects my bag.

Yes I’ve seen a lot of people suggest the never full but I wanted to be able to see my bag. My only concern is the product looks plastic-y and I didn’t want the protector itself to damage my bag.

I wouldn't use a plastic bag like that. Won't it off-gas inside? Plus, who needs more plastic in the world? Many here use Envirosax. I use dust bag inside existing outer carry-on bag.
There is a huge thread on this somewhere and this should be merged into it.

I’m thinking more for days where I might not be totally hands free. I know there’s lots of threads about how to protect the bag for travel.

When it’s rainy and wet out on a weekend, on a day that you have plans that you’ve been looking forward to and planning outfits for all week, do you leave your Bs or Ks at home and opt for another bag instead? I like to use my bags, so I’d love to take my little B out for a spin as much as I can, but I also don’t want to abuse her at the same time.

With that said, it’s raining out today in my part of the world and I’d like to know your bag selection decisions on wet days. If you take out your Bs and Ks despite the weather, how do you protect them? TIA!

Same. If I know it’s raining beforehand I carry a speedy or Neverfull instead if I get caught in the rain with a B I use the top half of the raincoat that comes with the bag. Other than that I don’t baby my bags.

I think putting a clear plastic bag around a birkin would look tacky. Also, adding a strap to it changes the design, which I think makes it look cheap.

Agreed. Like what’s the point of having a leather bag you gotta put in a bubble.

I feel the same way, but only in theory lol. When I’m out the door, I start panicking and switch to something that doesn’t give me agita when it’s raining outside ‍♀️

That’s why I carry a canvas or epi leather bag when rain is in the forecast. Those are worry free.
