Hi, I want to get a Bolide bag to match my belt and wondering if it's cool to go and ask an SA about a specific bag I want, or is it like Birkin/Kelly/Constance type of bag and I have to wait till they offer me? I can shop in Singapore/Seoul/Bangkok/Hong Kong/Jakarta anytime so if you have a tip for shopping in any of these cities please go crazy.

Backstory:
I've slowly moved on from Dior to Chanel to now Hermes, and I told myself I didn't need Hermes, but started shopping scarves and shoes and jewelry and belts and wallets from Hermes.. and now I just can't get over the oomph you get from quality and craftsmanship that shows in all their leather products! I don't want to get an Hermes bag that is obvious that everyone knows about, which imo defeats the purpose of the understated quality of Hermes leatherworks.

Yes you can ask your SA, and Bolide isn't a QB so it's theoretically easier to get an offer, but I know for sure Bolides are generally much more popular in Asia (especially Japan) than in the states (where I am). That could mean more inventory is allocated for Asian countries, but not sure how that will match with the higher demand there. This year is also the bag's 100th anniversary and I feel like that could drive up interest as well...

Good luck good luck - I just got a Bolide 1923 myself and love it

Bolide was my first H bag, and I think still my fave, they are relatively easy to get in store in Europe, I just asked but not sure about other regions.

Since they don’t hold their value as well as other H bags they can be a (relative) bargain on the resale market but I understand if you want a store fresh bag.

Please do show us when you get your bag!

A Bolide 27 was my first H bag too. Basically I asked for a smallish bag, preferably to go crossbody or at least that has a decent shoulder strap. There was a beautiful bright red Bolide on display, and when my SA took it out to let me try it on I was smitten. So while I didn’t specifically ask for a Bolide by name, they were more than happy to offer/sell to me, and I am a very low/infrequent spender. I am in the US BTW and this was in the first part of 2021.

I do also see these pop up online periodically and there are usually some on resale sites too.

Good luck and please show us what you end up with!

ah, Asia - I get the impression that you get a straight response there

Why this seems important, I don't know, but you have a perfectly good reason to want this bag.
Take the belt with you and explain why and what you would like.
By the way, don't expect SAs to be psychic - like yourself, not everyone wants a B,C or K
but if you do, it's important that your SA knows that, otherwise the wait will never end

The Gris Meyer is to die for. I’ve seen it in Evercolour. Very nice and versatile.

It’s rather hard to get one from the boutique in Singapore. If you are based in Singapore, there are quite a few resellers offering Bolide 25 in a variety of colours.

I'm so annoyed that H doesn't make Bolides 35 anymore:annoyed: I bought a 31 last year in a colour I love but the size isn't right for me. I'm not crazy about buying pre-owned bags as they often have musty odors or worst, but for a Bolide 35 it's the only way to get one. I really hope this tiny bag trend ends soon, I can't stand them!

I am too tall to carry teeny tiny bags. Hear, hear!

I'm short but I'd rather have an empty large bag with room to find things (ie: not have to 'rummage' through stuff to get what I need)
And room to add other things if needed for the day ahead.
And besides-Big bags make my butt look smaller.
On topic..
My only Bolide is a 45 Relax in Sikkim leather..its so big it makes my butt look minuscule
