I saw the bag on ebay and like it very much... but i still can't cope with the weird feeling like is the reseller gently touched the bag, does he/she, or a stranger!, take good care of the bag, what kind of environment is the bag in?, and much more. Am I weird?

do you have any of these feelings? if yes, how do you cope with the feeling and buy it anyway? and do you still feel as excited or pround as you get the bag from the shop?? :shrugs:

I've bought several used bags now and have no problem with it provided the bags are in good (and as stated) condition. But ... if you're uncomfortable buying used, don't. I personally love vintage and older pieces - my wedding gown was made in 1918 and I loved the fact that during that terrible period, someone found a mate and was married in that gorgeous dress. And they were still married when I bought the dress in 1986 - so it must be good luck!

As for the bags, yes, I was just as excited opening all three of them when they arrived as I was when I got my boutique purses! Good luck with your decision.

If you buy from a reputable reseller, there shouldn't be any doubts. You can always ask for more pictures to get a better idea how the bag actually looks like.

I've been very happy with many resellers and winning an ebay bid makes me always happy! It's like making a good deal... ;) Once you get good experiences buying online (ebay), you don't think about the seller(s) that much. Communication is always very straight forwards and fast which I like a lot.

I agree with DiamondS! Especially if it's something you can't get your hands on any other way. I got my Barenia 32 HAC on ebay from a fantastic seller (and even enlisted the crack authenticators from tPF to assist). Let me tell you, when I opened that package and saw my baby, I was thrilled! It was a different KIND of thrill than buying from the store. It was the thrill of finding my grail bag that I could never buy from the store!

If you consult with your tPF sisters, you won't go wrong!

I agree with the other TPFers. I've bought a few Hermes bags on ebay and the experiences have been great. The sellers I purchased from from provided great customer service, accurate product description, reasonable prices, and the quality of the merchandise was spot on. I recommend you look through TPF recommended re-seller list, ebay finds, and authenticate this threads. BTW, for what it's worth I've have awesome experiences with Sandiaexchange and and Elitefashion2000 (i found them through TPF recommended re-seller lists).

I used to only purchase my bags from the boutique since I'm so apprehensive about buying from ebay. But after reading enough posts in this forum about the reputable resellers, I finally made my first purchase from sandiaexchange. Coincidentally, I stopped by H on my way home from work and a little H box followed me home. Once I got home, I found my bag from Sandia waiting for me. I must say that I was just as excited and thrilled about getting my ebay purchase as I am with my H store purchase!

I love Kaleidoplace and SandiaExchange on ebay. I will always look for their listings. Buying a vintage Hermes bag is fantastic. These bags are made for a lifetime. I don't need to be the first person to touch the bag. In some ways, having someone else break it in can make you less anxious about making that first scuff.

ALERT: Caveat Emptor! Make sure the bag is authentic!

I'm awaiting the arrival of my "starter" bag - not a Birkin or Kelly, sadly! It is coming from a re-seller and I am thrilled about it. I think the good re-sellers are good about checking and accurately representing the condition, so I don't worry about that. I think many nice bags are lovingly cared for by their "first" mom, so I don't mind being second or even third!

Mistikat, what a great story about your wedding dress! May you and your husband have as long a relationship as the first owner!

I LOVE your avitar picture - are those bracelets? They are fabulous!!

I found the legit resellers on ebay are GREAT to work with! So far I have bought 3 and they arrive here with better condition than what they have been described. The key is to find the honest resellers and stick with them if and when you need something in particular. I would refer to the list provided in this forum. Good luck hunting!!!

Thanks, luvbolide! Actually, we will be married 20 years in October - eek! The bracelets are made by a friend of mine, Alan Anderson; I sell his stuff on my website. He's phenomenally talented - uses vintage crystals and everything is made by him. (I think I'm part drag queen!)

Thank you so much for your inputs. I feel a lot better coz most of you have great buying experience from ebay. I have to do some more research about the resellers then. Thx again :yes:!
