How do you create a poll in a thread?

Help! I want to create a poll but don't know how... I did a search but just got ooodles of poll threads, no instructions on how to actually create one! Thanks, sorry if this is in the wrong area!

when you go to make a thread, click the box where it says create poll, and after you type your message in the box, click i think post, and it will take you to a page to make your poll

When you start a new thread, if you look under the box where you type your message it says "Additional Options." The fourth option is to post a poll.

Thanks!!!!! I had clicked that but nothing happened and didn't want to look silly creating a "poll thread" with no poll!
