How do you clean your reissues?

I have a black 227 with gold hardware that i purchased almost about a year ago.

Until now, i have not done anything to take care of it and i recently moved up to alaska, so the weather over here is crazy dry and i wanted to so something for my reissue to keep it in a good condition.


I couldnt find a thread for care of the reissues
So if you fantastic ladies can tell me which leather lotions or caring items I need to get and how to take care of this bag, it will be awesome!

Meltonian delicate is great for conditioning. Collonil and Cadillac products are also good.

Just get the gel and rub it on the bag?

I have the leather gel & waterstop spray, both collonil.
I rub the gel into leather with my fingers, let dry, then buff with cloth.[there may be a more "proper way," but this is my method ]
I tend to rub into each diamond separately, trying not to scrub the stiches too much. I apply inside bag, also.

I hesitated using the waterstop on chanel(great on mulberry, etc.)--but, since tutu uses it without problems, I will do this.
That's just an all-over spray, wipes from hardware, very easy. Keeps water beading nicely, not soaking into leather.
