I'm sure all of us have multiple bags on our wishlists, how do you pick which bag comes first? The most practical one for your lifestyle? The one you've been wanting the longest? Least to most expensive? Missing style in your bag collection first?

I have some wishlist bags that I can buy now, or wait a few months and buy a more expensive wishlist bag, and I'm trying to decide which I want more >.<

Depend on how much I want it. For example, I really like Givenchy Antigona and Celine Mini Luggage but I still can't make that move to get it. I just can't see myself using the handbag just yet.

This year, I am planning to get 3.1 Philip Lim Large Pashli Satchel. I'm just waiting for promo code before getting it. I come with this decision because my collection mainly consists of slouchy leather and I want a structured bag. Why not the Antigona or Luggage right? Both bags are structured but Pashli can be worn cross body or over the shoulder with ease than the two. Most important of all is I can see myself wearing the Pashli and it make me excited just thinking about it. Hahaha

For me, it's a mix of - which bag(s) is missing from my collection, and like @manpursefan said, which bag I want the most.

Right now for instance, I'm really considering getting the Ralph Lauren Ricky soft, in white (with silver hardware)... because my white bag needs a new replacement :)

1. What I need - is there a hole in my current collection (pretty unlikely this would come up as a valid reason at this stage - I have pretty much every situation covered)

2. What is going to have a price increase sooner? (Critical for Chanel, LV and Hermes)

3. Is the style being discontinued/limited stock left?

I choose a bag I can't live without that fits my lifestyle and is a price I am willing to pay. I give myself at least a 24 hour cooling off period to avoid impulse purchases, and if necessary, I put it on hold. If the next day (or the next time I go to that particular store) I still need it, it comes home with me.

ChevaliereNoir, I like your strategy of approaching a new bag, it is really cool. By the way, some people rent the bag for a while and if they find it kind of cool experience, then they buy it.

^ Along same line, some boutiques may offer bag "on approval," for a few days.
--------
I don't script my bag purchases so much that I ignore surprise finds life directs my way.
But, I don't feel compelled to buy every fabulous bag I encounter, either.

I do have a bag on my "list." But, this stays an easy & enjoyable search, not an intense & rushed scouring.
I keep how I will use bag foremost in mind & pause for thought.

Hope this helps.

1, 2, & 3

I think these pretty much cover my reasoning process too.

Occasionally, something new comes out which has a particular, personal resonance with me, as though literally the bag was made for me in mind. People with a signature style are most inspirational, beyond the fashionable and sometimes even the practical.

Yeah, then of course there's those moments #Hcroc #chanelflaps :D :girlsigh:

LOL ha ha, rarest deep purple Chanel-flaps and H croc being additions to the heart of our signature styles forever and a day my dearest darling Bitten. The thrill of excitement will never fade a drop, we'll have them and love them 'till we are old and grey (whatever Madame Ines de Fressange may think) :sunnies:sunnies:ghi5:

Damn straight! :D :worthy:

I usually go to the one i need most but if an awesome sale/opportunity would happen to pop up on a particular bag i want/need etc. then it may end up at the top of the list lol

However it's important to not loose your head, now not all but many impulse buys end up falling flat.. I also like to bring the purse home and 'get to know it' in a non pressured environment to ensure we are a good match for each other. ;)
