Hey all, I just wanted to ask how does Cartier's white gold JUC and Love bracelets age with time? Does it begin to look matte or grey and lose it's shine?

I typically wear white gold jewelry, but Cartier's yellow gold suits me too. I want to pick which ever will continue to look better over time.

Any photos of heavily used white gold pieces would help :)

Thanks!

I’m curious about this too, I have a pre loved white gold Love and I still don’t understand fully about the rhodium plating. Mine is white gold and has been serviced by Cartier and I believe was plated again but I don’t know if that means the plating will start to wear off and the bracelet will start looking gold?

I’ve been wearing mine solidly for just over 2 years now and it’s still shiny just not the almost mirror like finish it was when I first put it on.

This pic may also help you. On the left is my 6 diamond Love after coming back from Cartier and on the right is a much older 10 diamond Love. the 10 diamond one was serviced and polished by Cartier in 2019 and work every single day up to this picture being taken in 2022, so that kind of helps to show a few years wear.

Super helpful, thank you!

That helps a lot! I get the feeling, like Swanky said that the white gold shows more wear and starts to look dull over a long period of time. My rings end up looking like this too, but I don't know that I'd like it on a bracelet. I may have to go with yellow gold. Thanks for sharing photos!

I have worn my love bracelet WG 4 diamonds solidly for about a month now and it´s very shiny and bright. I really like the mirror like finish ! But I wonder how often you need to rhodium plate it to keep the nice look ?

Not sure, I've never dipped mine, but it's 4 years old and looks every bit of it lol. It lost it's lustrous finish relatively quickly imo, but on the wrist worn daily, it's relatively normal too I think

In case it's helpful!
My Love is not rhodium plated and has been worn for six years by me, many more by someone else (I purchased the original version with removable screws preowned).
Pictured next to a rhodium plated white gold bracelet so you can see the colour difference.
I like the warmer shade of the non rhodium WG and although it is scratched (a lot!), dented and dinged on the edges it still looks quite shiny in most lights, certainly not a matt look like some of the rhodium ones.

I've had mine, and worn it constantly since 2008. It's been polished once. I wear it with my watch, and it is scratched, and looks a bit like it could be stainless steel. I wear it next to a rose gold, and frankly, it looks better.

I have 2 Love bracelets in WG. The classic without diamonds and the small with 6 diamonds. I’ve had the classic for 3.5 years and the small for 6 months. The classic has scratches but it’s not bad and the small has very little because it’s newer. I also try to get them cleaned at Cartier when I can and that definitely helps.
