How did you find the right size?

Hey all,

there are many really helpful threads on the different leathers and colors which makes it easier to make a decision for a first Hermes bag.
Since I decided to go down the pre loved route for Hermes bags, I don't know how to find the right size for me because I don't have the chance to take a look at it and try on. I searched and looked at many pictures here but couldn't come to a conclusion how a Birkin 30/35 or Kelly 28/32 would look on me. Maybe it is my lack of imagination
Therefore what I am asking myself is how you guys found the right size for a Kelly or Birkin?

I’ve been fortunate to try my Bs and K in store. My suggestion is you could take a measuring tape and measure out the dimensions on an existing bag you own or you can cut out paper/poster to the particular size and see how it looks in the mirror. That should give you an idea on scale.

No consignment stores or 2nd hand reselling store for branded goods where you are located?

Sadly not, and my Hermes store, that is 2 hours away, hasn't any B or K to look at. The thread here on the tpf about the store in my country calls it even corrupt, therefore I don't want to fuss around with them and go with the pre-loved route :/

Craft project! You can make a mock ups of the different sizes in paper or cardboard. It won’t give you an idea of the weight but measurements are readily available.

How tall are you?

I googled something like “Birkin sizes” and found pics of someone around my height who modeled every size of the bag so I got a pretty good idea. I will see if I can find it.

I think it’s important to consider your body type and height but also what you intend to use the bag for. I’m tall and athletic and love my B35s but I also love a B25 for evenings out.
