Hi Ladies, I am confused and am turning to the fashionistas at tPF. I need a new watch for everyday wear. I wanted something different, not the usual stainless or gold. I saw these Horn watches online, but have not seen them in person.

They seem super-cute, and I like that they are unusual but I am having trouble spending $200+ on plastic. What do you think? Is this a bargain or would you pass? I want your thoughts.

There are some good pictures and I think some feedback in the Michael Kors forum...there's a thread devoted to the watches that might help you out some :smile1:

Also, keep checking Bloomingdales' site; they had the second one you posted yesterday for like $168 I think? (And the darker tortoiseshell one too) And then the $50 off $100 coupon code that's posted in the deals and steals forum makes the price a bit easier to justify. They keep popping on and off the site, and I'm not sure when the code expires, but it's worth keeping an eye on. Good luck with your decision!

*~*I would also suggest stopping by the Fossil outlet (if you have one near you). They usually have a ton of Michael Kors watches at deeply discounted prices (I just picked up a white ceramic watch regularly priced @ $495 for $199).*~*

My fossil outlet is in podunk USA too...lol. It's 3 hours from my home but conveniently near a place we go to vacation (a lake). If you road trip at all, just keep your eyes out for outlet malls.
Back to your original question. I've lusted over the MK horn watch for about 3 years now. But I never felt like I could do the mixed metal thing (because of the YG accents). Now that I'm wearing some rose gold, I'd love to have a horn watch. I've seen the one in your pictures on the far left. I LOOOOVE that one. Some of the horn watches look to marbley and cheap in person though. I think they were fossil ones I felt that way about though. I have a white fossil "plastic" watch and it's held up well.

I think the horn watches are gorgeous! I have the same watch that's in your first picture except it's the tortoise band/bracelet. It's made of resin just like the ones you posted, and so far it's held up very well. I'm very happy with mine. I'd love to have one in the horn color also, but I'm afraid that color won't work too well for me in the wintertime. I think that the horn MK watches actually look way prettier in real life than they do online.

I agree with skphotoimages- the Fossil version of the horn watches does look kinda cheapy (even though MK is made by Fossil, the appearance of the horn is quite a bit different between the two brands).

Definitely check out the MK watches thread in the MK section...there are tons of pics there of all different kinds of MK watches.

You should also check out jomashop.com.... they have great deals on MK watches. I've bought three watches from them. I have tried on the horn in person. It is very nice, but I didn't like the plasticy feel from them. So I went the ceramic route.... I felt like it was so light, like a kids watch. Maybe you can try one on in person, before ordering online?
