Hi all,

Has to postpone my DES timeline to Feb/mar 2024 as has a few things come up recently. I’m from Canada, and really hoping to get my DES incisional done in Hong Kong (as I speak Cantonese and my friends are there) but is it a bad idea? I don’t want to go to Korea, but will consider japan if it’s much better… In HK I got a rough estimate (without consult) for 6.2k CAD/4.5USD

Thank you!!

it might not be bad choice if you have friends and family there. have any of your friends got it done, or can you ask them to look up info for you or ask around. i think when you go in you might be able to knock the price down. I read about some going to Taiwan, or even mainland. Are those options?

All my friends in hk are somehow blessed with natural eyelids and never needed the surgery.. with 2 quotes, I have the 6.2k+ OT fee, Ans the other at 10k😅 I’ve also reached out to dr.yuzawa in japan for English menu pricing and if he has any recommend translator or process for overseas patients - I just want this over and done with!

QUOTES IN USD? I am not from hk, but I lived here. Unless you are covered by health insurance, any sort of medical or cosmetic surgery are very expensive here. And not many cosmetic related surgeries to choose from, if they do, very expensive, I went down that route. I did my surgeries in Seoul. not for DES. more options, less expensive
hope this helped.

Hey there,

I got my non incisional eyelid surgery done twice in HK. Once in 2011 and once in 2014. The effect was great but the cost was insane. Both times with the same doctor, who was associated with Sau San Tong (but not directly affiliated etc, they have some sort of partnership).

Since it's quite a while ago I don't remember his name, but apparently he was a pretty well known doctor in HK.

I later found out (since I worked in HK for a few years) that majority of people that go for double eyelid surgery either went to TW to have it done or to SK, since it's apparently common knowledge that the cost in HK is extremely inflated (due to the inflated real estate cost).

I had incision double eyelid surgery done in TW the third time, and it was like a fraction of the non incisional double eyelid surgery cost in HK. I remember my first non incisional double eyelid surgery was 50k HKD (6.4k USD), which is like 8.4m KRW. You can get primary non incisional double eyelid surgery from celebrity doctors in Korea for cheaper than that. Second time because it was from the same doctor it was 25-30k HKD, but literally had to get it not even 3 years after I had it done the first time. I should have just went to Korea the first time and get it done right =/

I couldn't agreed more, Seoul does so much better job, do your research carefully.
