Ive never really asked for everyones opinions on here and thought it was strange when others do - but now Im stuck and I totally get why everyone does it now LOL

Heres my dilemma .....
I saw the new catalina bb bag instore a couple of weeks ago in Indian Rose and Im in LVoe!!! But now I think I like the ikat version much better.

Do you think its too much to pay for the new ikat catalina bb? Ive only seen it on the US site - the Aussie one takes forever to get updated, so Im not sure how much extra it would convert to AUD.
Is it too much money when the monogram isnt prominent and more of a background?
Will it look gross when the handles patina?
Will it date - will it look sooooo 2013 in 10yrs time lol?

Side note - yes its a little bag, but Im into them (speedy 25s, alma bb ect)
Also I dont know if this has anything to do with it, but Im 25 and this would be my fist LE.

Im interested in the hot pink and the blue versions which I'll attach pictures of.

Thanks in advance X :)

I saw these in store and loved the blue version ... if you adore it and will use it ...then go for it..who knows in 10 years time these may be re-released. I think it is good range for our climate too:smile1:

It would look great for Aussie climate!! I think the bags would look great with patina, just not so dark, so then you might think it is a DE piece, but that nice honey patina would look great on it! I saw these two bags in person at the Perth store, and I must say they look beautiful, but on a 5'11' guy, well it is not for me! Since I'm a guy and blue is one of my favorite colors, I would say go for the Blue Ikat and of course an advanced congratulations of your first LE piece, it would be a truly special moment for you!

To be honest, if i had funds i would get them in ikat version, cause it looks much more beautiful then in classic vernis.. And the classic rose indienvernis doesnt have sparkles, which makes bag a little bit simple.. My vote is ikat!!! İ got rose indien nf gm from this line and i love it so much... Good luck with decision!!

I really like this bag. If you prefer small bags, then this is right up your alley. I, personally, would go for the Rose Indien color. As for the patina, I don't think dark patina will look bad on this bag, besides it will take a while for that. Good luck!

I love the style of this bag -- so simple and classic - just that alone will keep it from looking dated, IMO. The vachetta doesn't bother me either because there is so little of it. This is a great bag!!

Thank you everyone for your comments - you all made such valid points!! :)
I'm going to a store event in 2 wks time and I plan on buying one then - I'm leaning towards the pink - I've always wanted a pink bag, so this may be my chance!!

I've seen them in the store and I don't care for them. I do believe that they will look "so 2013" in a few years. I would say they are worth buying if a. you love them and b. you have enough in your luxury goods account to switch it out when it gets dated and not be upset by that

I agree, I think you'd be better off purchasing the catalina bb without the ikat print?
You'd only be able to wear the ikat bags this year, any time afterwards they would be 'so last year'. And the monograms are less visible, why not purchase a catalina bb, with an ikat bandeau as pictured?

Reviving this oldie.

Did you buy it? Maybe it was so 2013, but I think it's pretty great today! So cute, I just (like seconds ago kind of just) won a bid on a slightly wonky vintage one in Indian Rose. Can't wait to see it and wonder if you have enjoyed yours!
