Hip Bag -- how is this carried?

I'm a little confused -- this is called a "Hip Bag", but is it meant to be worn around the waist? The strap seems to be short for that though, at 19 inches.

I was thinking crossbody, mrs jones, I think most crossbody straps are 40 inches and up.

I wear mine on my waist and there is no way my waist is 19 inches. Let me measure the belt thingy for you guys.

is the strap adjustable to a longer/larger size?

Okay, total length of the belt is about 42 inches and the grommets start at about 31 and end at about 37 inches. The great thing is the belt is removable so you could add the pouch part to another belt although the belt would have to be a narrow one.

the site describes the strap as 19" adjustable strap; I'm sure it can be adjusted to fit the average waist.
