Emma Hill, ex-Mulberry creative director, has a new line: Hill & Friends.

Some background of Emma Hill from wikipedia: "Designer Emma Hill joined Mulberry in 2007, and has been credited with turning the Somerset-based firm from a trusted briefcase and wallet maker into an international fashion powerhouse. The brand has a number of celebrity fans, including the Duchess of Cambridge. Hill was credited with creating huge hits for the company, such as the Alexa Chung handbag. Profits for the firm were initially strong after Hill's appointment, however the brand struggled during the credit crisis, and has issued two profit warnings in the past year. In June 2013, it was announced that Hill would be leaving the brand due to creative differences. Company share prices fell in the wake of the announcement."

Debuted at London Fashion Week a few days ago, apparently there are 6 bag designs in a variety of colours with '70% of the line-up being under the £1,000 price point.'

2 types of bag in about 4 colours are currently available at net-a-porter.com and http://www.hillandfriends.com

See the below links for info on the 'intimate launch' complete with pink food, bell boys and shetland ponies. Oh, and the bags of course!

Some pictures below - thoughts and opinions invited! My twopennyworth: Love! Am not usually a leopard print or pony hair or pink fan, but something about these make my heart beat faster. Love love love :p.

But what do you ladies think: aye or nay??

There is already a discussion going on in the Mulberry subforum. :smile1:

Not sure about the bags. I do like the style, but they remind me too much of other bags (esp. Mulb, but also Ricky (Ralph Lauren) and Birkin). Not sure about the lock, either, it looks cute, but I wonder if the smiling face gets disturbing at some point...
It's definitely a plus, that they are made in England and the leather seems nice. Suede lining is also great.
I think we have to give them some time to develop more new styles.

Ahh - didn't realise there was a thread about her new line in the Mulberry sub-forum. Thx!

Sorry, pass.

We've had cakes made into the shape of our favourite bags, the pink leopard looks like a bag made to resemble a cake

But then I was never a fan of Ms Hill, so if you wear at Mulberry please take no notice

I did love the miniature ponies at the 'show' though

[emoji23] It's a bit too much sugar for my taste, I guess, although I like most of the bags she designed for Mulberry.
The ponies are very cute - but what are they doing in the midst of this Grand Budapest Hotel atmosphere? This question interests me more than the bags, I fear. [emoji23]

I don´t like the one on the platter, looks like a mismatch of a Birkin and a Ralph Lauren Ricky... the rest are mildly nice, but I wouldn´t rush to reserve any one of the offerings so far. Maybe she´s still testing the waters with the old familiar hits before risking a wholly original model...?

I seem to be very much in the minority, here! :smile1::smile1:

I'm defintely gonna get one soon - I just need all the styles and colours from the show to be on the website so I can choose the one that speaks to me the most.
