Hi all,

I want to purchase a high school graduation gift for our niece. She was a flower girl at our wedding and my husband is her g-dfather. I want to get her something special that not only appeals to someone her age, but that would be classic enough to wear when she is older.

I do not want to spend more than $300 (we are planning on giving her cash as well). I am fully aware that that price limits me to something in silver as I do not want to do costume jewelry. I am even toying with the idea of having something custom made . . .

She lives in the midwest and isn't really familiar with brands. So, it does not have to be stamped from Tiffany's etc. But, I do want to get her a high quality item.

I would really *love* to hear from ladies attending college as to what is really in (you know, that must have piece like when the RTT tag bracelet and necklace was the 'in' thing). I have also considered getting a Louis Vuitton Monogram key and change holder as it is great to carry just your id and credit cards and we could put the cash in there. I still use mine all the time when I need to run out quickly to the store.

Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe a simple silver bangle, but that seems really boring and I am hoping to do better than that.

Please help me. Thanks in advance!

She may not be familiar with Tiffany now, but she will as she gets older. I think a nice piece from there is a perfect graduation gift. Maybe a bracelet?

Ummm, take it from someone who lives in the Midwest - a lot of the H.S. girl's are most certainly aware of 'branded' items. I agree, a Tiffany toggle bracelet, pendant, etc. would be a wonderful gift and still stay within your price range.

Get her something from Tiffany's... I think jewlery is a nicer gift that she can always have and think back and remember that so and so gaver her this... I would say a tag bracelet... or the round RTT bracelet. I think those are the perfect types of pieces that everyone starts with at Tiffanys.... plus it's a recognizeable piece...

Another vote for Tiffany bean jewerly. I gave the earrings as a graduation gift a few years back, they sold on me on the meaning of the bean. Something about a new beginning or something don't quite rememeber.

I vote for Tiffany jewelry. My mommy gave me the heart bracelet, necklace and matching heart earrings for my 15th Bday and I still wear my bracelet (im 22 now). =) She will love it.. specially when you show her the tiffany blue bag. The color makes my heart skip a beat & LV boxes too. lol Let us know what you decide! You are so sweet for thinking about giving her something so beautiful!

I bought my older daughter the RTT earrings for her 16th birthday, and I think they would also be a lovely graduation gift. Tiffany jewelry is something she will always treasure.

NY Village Girl: The earrings are a fine idea. I actually thought of them too, but they seem a little too formal for this particular person.

Kitsunegrl: Thanks for the bean idea. I never knew about the symbolism before.

kmd1_123: The Tiffany Filigree Heart Key and Pendant is precious!

So many great ideas, keep them coming. I think I will end up doing a poll.

When I graduated from high school (granted it's been a while) I would have LOVED something from Tiffany's. I see a lot of college aged girls wearing the RTT bracelet or anything made by Elsa Peretti. I love the open heart necklace.
