My hubby wants to get himself a really good quality backpack, something that looks a bit fancier than your typical one but I am struggling to find anything that fits the bill. Originally we had hoped to get him a Louis Vuitton one but we had a terrible experience with them (long story!) and now he has sworn off them for life. Gucci has some backpacks but they are either too small or not his taste.

Any ideas would be a huge help! :)

Purchased a men's Tom Ford backpack and within one week one of the straps was coming undone. The store won't repair it because I purchased at a department store.

Oh wow that’s ridiculous! I had a very small issue with mine (nothing like a strap coming undone!) and they replaced it with a new one no questions asked. They were shocked to find an issue too. This was also at a department store. Can you not take it back to the place you bought it from?

I bought it in Switzerland. I would have to ship the bag back to them. Manager tried to reason with Tom Ford to allow me to have it repaired in the US but they wouldn't budge. Very frustrating. Went on their website and they actually state it they won't repair. Never thought about checking the website prior to purchasing since luxury brands usually don't have issues repairing their own product.

Seeing that this already an older thread, but I thought of mismo.
I don‘t have a backpack from them as I am a rather tiny woman, but I think they make very pretty backpacks for men. I at least have a toiletry bag from them and I love it as it is very sturdy with well thought of design and very well made.

What’s the point in having a global brand and not accommodate this type of issue. LV has similar statements on their website and yet whenever there’s an issue they are quick to sort it out for you, regardless of where the item was bought. Shame on TF! Good to know for sure

If you're still shopping for one, I just got myself one of these from Frank Clegg Leatherworks. There's a nice range of colors this comes in:
