In the accessories realm, I've always been a sunglass girl and haven't worn much jewelry but I'm looking to start my collection with some really good staple pieces.

Can anyone share brands that make really solid sterling bracelets, preferably under $400?

I was looking very closely at Yurman and Lagos, and ruled out Lagos because of some bad reviews. I can't find anything out of DY current collection that's totally my style, so I'm looking for some other suggestions.

Wanting to keep it under 400 because I don't want any stones, just sterling :)

Thanks a million

Your budget is pretty restrictive, so hopefully your expectations are in line with this. For ex., look at Elsa Peretti at Tiffany. There's something for you, while the more statement pieces are considerably pricier.

Or the Tiffany Venetian link bracelet. This is very slim on the wrist, so again, this scale of delicateness has to work for you.

Have fun!

You might check out the resale sites - I have found a handful of special artisan one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry that way over the last few years.

For starters, if you have a tjmax by you, you can sometimes find John Hardy and Lagos available (at a really good price too).
Online…May I suggest Georg Jensen, Ole Lynggaard (has some silver-can’t remember their silver prices). I’ve also found/purchased some vintage Danish/Swedish silver online via rubylane.com.
Edit: I have a lot of Lagos, as did my Aunt, I’m not sure what issues some may of had with the company. I haven’t had any problems with my Lagos.

I’ve been really admiring the workmanship of Native American jewellery, gorgeous.

If you like the look of hammered silver you can get a handmade bangle for well under 400.It’s quite a big thing in Cornwall but I’m sure you could also find American makers.

I’m a huge fan of sterling and bracelets. I’ve found some beautiful pieces from artisans in the UK on Etsy. I recently purchased a hammered cuff. Their sterling is gorgeous.

I also have a few in my collection from Tiffany’s and Birks.

My favourites are from Mexico though.

Here is my cuff and also the Birks muse bracelet I received for Christmas:

I suppose it depends on your aesthetic?
Are you modern, androgynous, femme, ornate or minimal?
On the opposite side from a cuff or bangle have you considered an old fashioned chain link charm bracelet? You can pick them up for very little on eBay if you like detailed jewellery.

I’d 100% go for something not off the shelf. So try putting your parameters into Etsy to see what comes up. There are some amazing unique designs and you get so much more for your money. I’m afflicted to browsing pieces :amuse:
