Hello ladies
I took my birkin to the local Hermes boutique for service, The shop SA advised me that they need to send the bag to Paris for cleaning (no such service at local store) it will take 3-5 months. Here’s my question, I’ve read a post saying that they will not return the bag to the owner and destroy the bag if they think the bag is counterfeit, what happens if the bag deemed authentic but it’s been serviced by another person/shop ? Are they gonna return the bag ?
Thanks

If you do a search on this forum, you'll find a thread dedicated to spa services. H will also not service a bag if it's been repaired by other leather workers, so I assume they'll just end back to you.

They’ll just send it back. They destroy counterfeits because they are illegal and copywrite infringing etc. They don’t work on bags which have been previously touched by other craftspeople because if the customer has an issue later, it would be impossible to say who is at fault and Hermès, reasonably, doesn’t want to be held responsible for work done by another company. The bag is still authentic, regardless.

Understand. Thank you :)

hi everyone, i left a question in H refurbish forum but no one replied. my Kelly longue wallet leather unglued/separated on the side. i asked how much to get it serviced but never got a reply. so i just put a glue myself since it's very small. my question is, will H accept my wallet for a spa if they saw I glued the sides myself? TIA izmir.jpg

I sent a vintage bag to the Spa which was never serviced before but during the process of filling out the form etc the SA didn't ask about any prior service.

If I were you, I'll just send it without mentioning the glued part - except if they ask of course. They'll either service it for you or send it back, they wouldn't destroy their own creation.
Also, regarding the bold part, from my experience, the local boutique won't quote you the price. After the item reaches France, the spa/workshop/boutique should send you a quote and then you either accept or reject.

Good luck!
