Hi all,

I was just told by an SA in NJ that there is a 30 day ban on shipping any new items...Is this true at all locations? I am trying to order a pair of orans that are also in stock in Hawaii...just wondering if I should call there or not? Thanks!!

Stores aren’t playing nicely with one another these days because stock is so low. There is also a 30 day no exceptions hands off on stock for newly opened boutiques, so for example the pop up store in Roosevelt mall NY has inventory of all sorts of shoes but no other store can get them until it’s been past 30 days. You could try calling HI but if you aren’t a customer of theirs, they likely won’t ship to you. Best to have your SA try for a charge send from the Hawaii store (though if she’s saying it can’t be done then it’s likely that the store just isn’t cooperating with remote sales.)

Thank you for the information. I don’t really have an SA as I live in TN and I’ve only purchased in CT and that SA doesn’t respond to text messages. I might try HI, but otherwise just go back to chanel.
I really appreciate the insight!

I would try Hawaii. As far as I know, there is no ban on charge send. My SA put in a charge send for me for a hat on Saturday. But, he searched in the system and cherry picked what he felt was the best location to get it from. Some locations do not want to release popular items. One problem is for a remote order, if it doesn’t work, the cl8ent is likely to return it to another store, so the original store could have both a return without a chance to resell the item. OT, but you mentioned chanel. Just wanted to say a chanel SA may be able to do a charge send or even transfer, but it apparently involves a bit of work: several emails of explanation and sometimes horse trading for items, and some SAs really do not want to do so.

Ive always wondered if SAs are still able to get commission charge sends.. when the SA ordered an item found from another store and has it sent to you. Reason is bc my SA sometimes seems reluctant to do it… but it’s really not difficult for the SA to do. Just a few clicks to select the store and check out at cashier. Is it because sometimes the Store doesn’t release/send the product so it’s a hassle for the SA to deal with it when the customer says they haven’t received it? Cant tell why there is such hesitancy. If I was a SA and get commission on these orders from other stores, I would always find the product at another store and charge send. I feel like they don’t get as much commission or something

It’s exactly because the sending store sometimes refuses the charge send and sometimes doesn’t even communicate that they aren’t going to ship it and just ignore it altogether. Then your SA has to figure out if it’s late or being ignored, has to try to call the other store to figure out what’s going on, has to perhaps process your cash refund (which is a huge hassle) or tell you that you can only have a store credit refund. It can be a huge mess. Add in that you’re more likely to return a site unseen item and that when an items inventory is so low that they need a charge send, it is likely that the other store has it because it’s on display/ less than perfect condition. Regardless, the SA gets the same commission but the credit for selling the item stays with the sending store so your SM is less pleased.

When I was looking for a pair of Chypre sandals an SA in NY told me that the Atlanta store had them in my size but that they'd refuse to ship them (popular item/size and they'd rather sell to their local clients).

If I were you I'd just call the store in HI and ask anyway, you have nothing to lose  You can also keep your eye out on the website, that'll be the most hassle-free experience in case you'd need to return/exchange them as well.
