Hermes scarf collector groups or associations

Hi, thank you! I do visit both links. I feel like I’m looking for more of an organized club that meets either in person or virtually.

I don’t know any other collectors personally and started collecting a while back as a fun way to diversify my investments. It’s a bit of a daily job researching, hunting scarves, considering what would go grail and how long that takes.

As well, I know many don’t have the best experience reselling and having a serious/trusted collectors group to talk about value, possibly trade/sell scarves within the group and advise on changes to Hermes that could affect the end result product would be amazing.

In my other interest, saltwater reef cultivation, the are structured clubs that meet. It’s a hard hobby so the support of others is valuable. The organizations work to support causes related to the preservation of coral reefs, education and members bring pieces of their reef (frags) to help others get started/trade/sell.

This site is the only place that even comes close to what I’m looking for regarding engaging with other collectors and thought there might be a structured association tied to it or maybe one in the future?

Not discounting the merits of an organised group outside TPF, but I would suggest you look at many of our threads (orange 'Scarves' prefix) in order to help answer some of those questions. We also have TPF H team meets in major cities all round the world, not all our members are fixated on bags, many are scarf aficionados. Some of our members are among the most knowledgeable globally and have their own blogs about collecting/artists/formats etc and not just acquiring/wearing/colours.

It's not for nothing we have hundreds of guests come here as a first port of call on future seasonal scarf info and other scarf threads.

I think there will be H scarf groups on FB and Insta etc, but most seem to come together explicitly for sales, authenticity, or tying advice.

Why not start one?

I would like to know, too! Great thread, cbradley!
I’m glad someone else is looking for this as well. I know there are people here that have been collecting for many years and seem quite serious about it. They collect, sell, work with selected preloved markets and know what Hermes does as an organization that could affect future products. I think it’s worth organizing into a formal group of trusted collectors.

Being far from Paris or Madison Ave (I’m in Florida) I get a lot of odd looks when people see the size of my collection. Some think it’s wasteful or indulgent. They’re even more shocked that I don’t wear them often.

Hopefully there’s something out there!

Thanks for the TPF meets insight as I didn’t know about that.

I’d love to start a group, but not knowing any other collectors personally makes it challenging, but appreciate the suggestion.

You’re definitely spot on about FB and there can be drama there I’m not into. That’s mainly why I’m on TPF.

Hi! Happy New Year! I just came across this thread and I would be interested in the collector's group! I collect select 90s and wear mostly CSGMs - but am very much into research on the brand, designs, artists, value, authentication, etc. Please keep me posted if this will materialize! Thank you!

Hello Fellow Hermes Scarf Collectors,
Can someone tell me what “blanc matte overlay” means? Thank you for your help!
Happy New Year and happy hunting for your grails.
It is white paint on fabric for special effects. Some H silk scarves and cashmere shawls have it (not necessary it would be white - could be various colors). To name some designs that have it - Grands Fonds, Sur Tapis (cashmere), Grand Theatre (cashmere) - not sure if GT silks have it, etc. It could vary for different CWs and also issue year..
