Hermes Quality Also Declined

The store director did ask me if I want a new Lindy 30 etoupe. But I refused, just too much negativities with this bag for me right now. Since I haven't found anything other bags from Hermes that make my heart sing except B and K, I'm just going to use the credits for other goodies. The holiday season is coming, I'll go shop next month and update them in other posts accordingly.

At least on a B or a K you wouldn't have to deal with a zipper all the time! :biggrin:

I'm glad this situation was resolved for you. I wouldn't have been happy at all if I had to "threaten" my SA with a charge dispute.

Thank you! I know right? I wasn't comfortable either, especially to my SS(she's a sale specialist, don't know if any difference), since I didn't buy this bag from her. I haven't bought anything actually. I'm such a newbie of Hermes. She spent more than two hours with me last time trying stuff and I only bought a bracelet but then exchanged it at the Hawaii store for another color and style. LoL! She is so sweet and patient. We always chat about almost everything when I visit. So I did feel bad. But at least now I have 8K+ that'll go towards her commision, not too bad. =P

I'm not 100% sure either. I did ask her if the credits will be counted in her store not the Hawaii one, She said yes. So I assume she'll get the commission. I really hope so. Anyway, it's out of my control now so I won't stress out it. We'll see if I get an offer of a B/K in the future. :cool:
 
Unfortunately with designer brands, you really are paying for the name, not for quality. A BMW is prettier, but a Kia will last much longer and repairs will be far cheaper.

i know right? Only 2018 stinger and 3 series have even been considered compatible in any terms, clearly know nothing of cars.

Hi everyone, I'm back to update and give a closure to this post.

It was stressful at the beginning. I tried to call for two days but couldn't get hold of anyone(the first day was busy; the second day, neither my SS nor the director was at the store). Then I emailed my SS and told her I don't what the bag to be repaired, either sent me a new bag or store credits or refund. She said she sent the request to Paris, it had to be decided by them. The store didn't have the authorization. What?! I had no choice but wait. Another week passed by, still no answer. I emailed her again and told her it's too slow and unacceptable. I didn't understand why it took so long to answer a simple question. It was not hard to tell if this bag was authentic or if it was damaged purposely by me. It had been two whole weeks! So I expressed my frustration and told her if I don't get the answer the next day, I will dispute. I had already talked to my credit card company. They could dispute the charge anytime. She forwarded my email to the store director. He emailed me back right away saying the same thing, had to wait for Paris to make the decision. I replied him back and told him my decision was firm, dispute if no answer by the end of business hour tomorrow. The next day around 1pm, viola, got the email from him telling me store credits had been issued. How magical!

I refused a new bag when the director offered. I'm taking a break from Hermes handbags, definitely not a Lindy. I'm a little bit traumatized. But I'm still a sucker for their Birkin and Kelly (fingers crossed for their quality). So maybe I'll use the credits for their other products to build up a profile.

Thanks everyone for your advice. They really helped me. I can't express how much I appreciate them. I hope my experience can also help someone else in the future. One thing I have to admit, their in-person customer service is beyond expectation. I really like my SS. That's actually one of the reasons I didn't ask for a refund but store credits. I like shopping with her assistance. I do most of my shopping online nowadays, so going to the Hermes store is like a special treat.

Sorry to hear such mishap happened to your Lindy. I got an etoupe Lindy in Apr this year and it is my first Hermes bag too. Your case might be an isolated one and let's pray this is not going to repeat anymore. :smile:

To be completely honest, my friends family had two BMWs and they both had faced lots of repairs despite normal usage of the car. Also, repairs at BMW are pretty costly. Another close friend had terrible customer experience after taking his BMW back for repairs, they simply wouldn’t stand behind their product and sent it to a third party garage without notifying him.

In my personal experience, my Honda faced A LOT more use and abuse and lasted much longer than my Mercedes. The Mercedes we bought brand new. Now, we have to take it back to the dealership because the suspension just gave up on its own. I’m pretty upset because it was not cheap, and only has 40k miles on it. And we get yearly maintenance from Mercedes every year.

I’m not saying a Kia is better or that people pay for the name. But with the price you’re paying I expect slightly better quality and longevity. Again, not to last in mint condition forever but...I mean a suspension just giving up on its own, that’s kinda ridiculous.

Based on my observation, there seem to be more stock available these days. H must have been ramping up production. Some form of quality has been compromised. What a pity.
