Hi,

I'm looking to buy an Hermès Passport Holder. There is not much to choose from, the Tarmac and the MC2. They don't look very practical, TBH. Should I be looking into other brands, like Chanel or LV? Any experiences with Hermès passport covers?

I have a Tarmac in Magnolia epsom an love it. It is very sturdy. But, if you want something to also hold credit cards or cash, this style will not accommodate those items.

This is why I haven't bought it  would love to have something simple where I can keep one passport side tucked inside, one free and there is room for cards on the other side.

I did't like the snap closure design of the Tarmac and reached for a LV passport holder with customizable printed stickers. It holds four cards and the ticket in addition. I'm happy with it and would go for it again.

I've had a Tarmac for many years that I adore. I find that I prefer to have something minimal on my passport, because I don't want to add bulk while traveling. I also don't like to hold all my valuables (cards, cash, IDs) in a single holder while traveling, and I find it inconvenient to have to move the cards in and out of the passport holder before and after travel. The passport always lives in the Tarmac.

If it works for people then great but OT it's not really advised to put passport and cards together
At least for me it would be great combination as travel wallet because i only take couple cards when travelling and no cash so can have all in one wallet combination and nothing else.
If I ever change currency then I have them in separate wallet.

A couple of other options to try - both have space for other travel-related items like additional currency or frequent flyer cards etc:
Calvi Pouch (the medium size)
Envelope or Envelope trio (I like the trio as I use the zipped pouches for cards, currency, etc)

I use an agenda cover for my passport and it works great. Since for some international travel vaccination records, etc., are required, I find the extra pocket very helpful to store these. I guess the Covid test results will go in there now too!
