I have been wanting to get into Hermes for a long time, but I don't live anywhere near a store. It's hard to get a relationship with an SA when you only go to stores when you travel. That said, I recently sold a bunch of bags I wasn't wearing or didn't love anymore (lots of Chanel), and I've been replacing with Hermes bags. I only had a black Herbag with gold hardware (love it so much), and I just got an Evelyne 29 yesterday. I'm obsessed now lol.

I have a Victoria 35 on the way and a Bolide 35 too! I'm thinking a Picotin will be next and possibly a 24/24 bag? I'd love a Kelly someday too. <3 Excited to be here.

Welcome! Congrats on your new findings! I’m newish too! I wish I could sell some of my bags lol that I’m not using but I know I would regret it later.

How/where have you been able to get your bags? Resell or are you having luck going to the different stores during your travels?

I have always thought we should have a newer (since shopping seems very different just from a couple of years ago!) newbie thread. A thread not necessarily about spend or quotes or specific stores but just a place to share our excitement!

Welcome to the wonderfully slippery orange slope! I've been collecting H for 30 years and, try as I might from time to time, just can't quit it. I'll go through phases where I think I'm entranced by other brands but I always find these purchases get returned and I go skipping back to H. It's been quite a journey. The H rabbit hole is almost infinitely deep. In these threads you'll find a coterie of wonderfully enabling people who are lovely and most supportive.

Thank you so much! I found them all pre-loved and in great condition. I would love to be able to buy from the store someday but all I've bought is a part of Oran sandals online. :)

Hi ,
Does anyone know if the hardware on kelly metal plague and touret scratches? My 2 month old new kelly 25 got the side of the touret scratched when I tried to ope the bag and free it from the metal plague. The back of the metal plague now got scratches...is this normal?

hi, I was offered a CTG ostrich leather from hermes@sevres in paris. after purchased, I realized there was no certificate nor blind stamp. I have since returned to my home country and wanted to get your advice, if it is standard without certificate and blind stamp for CTG ostrich? Thanks!

I do not think ostrich is (by default) considered endangered and is ”just” a more or less regular farm animal. It is exotic yes but I do not think CITES is needed. *I am not familiar with H ostrich though. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Not sure about the CTG exactly for the blind stamp, but I have a few ostrich pieces and no CITES, including for the recent piece I purchased in Paris. I traveled with an ostrich bag on that trip as well, and did not have any issues coming back with either bag.

I don’t think the blind stamp is really a concern for purposes of bringing the bag home - but would double check again. It can be pretty well hidden and difficult to see on small pieces to begin with.

Ostrich goods do not need CITES. Enjoy your new CTG!
