Hi guys,
I'm about to pull the trigger on a Hermès sable clemence birkin. It's vintage. All photos I can find online shows so differently. Some more brown and some very yellow looking.
I'm curious how the bag look like in real life. Is it a neutral color?

TIA!

Firstly: Beautiful bag, dear HermesZen!
Though, dear dwang018:
however, for judging the colour on a vintage bag: wouldn't it be best to have more photos sent to you of the bag you are interested in (daylight, sunlight, indoors)?
Then as now, even under the same colour name, colours can vary not only depending on the kind of leather but also depending on the leather batch.
E.g. my Ardennes leather Birkin 35 from late 90s is leaning a more "mustardy" than the beautiful bag of dear HermesZen. And it has gotten a little darker over time, too. So you might be very disappointed if you had looked at a different bag and loving this colour and then receiving a rather different one.

Good luck deciding and enjoy if you decide to buy.

I totally agree. The seller has already sent bunch of photos under different lighting and they all looking a bit different. This one looks more milky yellow. Just trying to set my expectations right. I think I'm willing to risk it.

Thank you so much for your advice

Here is my natural sable (swift) Constance that I got in 2016. Hope this helps! 6EA1FC20-4D30-4EE3-AC30-064D131F4CB1.jpeg

Love the color!! I wish it’ll turn out this pretty! Will post photo when received  thank you for sharing
Thank you so much! This is accurate of how it looks in real life. I'm so happy to have it, even though the color combo is exactly like my beige claire medium Chanel classic flap with gold hardware. (Whew, that is a lot to type!) My DH told me the two bags are different enough to justify having both.

So you would say the bag is beige similar to chancel classic beige? When I google sable it just shows different in each picture. Some more beige some more yellow some more tan...hard to say.

I can only speak for natural sable in swift. And yes, it is a complete match in color with my beige claire (light beige) chanel classic flap in caviar. It is very true that natural sable translates differently according to leather. It can look totally different in togo, clemence, swift, epsom. I think you will need to decide if it is the right tone by viewing it in person.
