Hi Everyone!
Happy belated Mother's day~
I can see that all you were busy and congratulations on all those wonderful items you all own now!!!

I just got back from Las Vegas, the trip was fantastic!
My husband and I stayed at the Bellagio, where the Hermes boutique is located and we celebrated evenings with great food and shows.

Of course, the first place I head to as soon as we arrive: the Hermes boutique!!! I was so excited and bubbly to finally visit the store Baggaholic has raved about. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't as pleasing.

Yes I worked my way into the store while taking picture...I admit it must have looked super dorky.... but I'm on vacation, I like taking pictures, and who is to treat me any differently?

The store was empty. Three sales rep: one male (on the phone the whole time) and two females. The two females stared at me posing in front of the store while my husband, who was dying to check out the casinos, took pictures of me from different angle. Then they spoke to each other in Japanese, laughed, as I turned around I caught a glimpse of one SA eyeballing me.

(1) scarf
I asked to see the giraffe scarf I had my eyes on.
One of the Japanese SA said it came in two colors, took out the brown one, as the other just stood by.
It was beautiful. She then took out another scarf......... of a zebra, not a giraffe......and told me it was the other color.

I told her it was not a giraffe but a zebra. She stared at it for a while without a word, then put it back in the drawer......and...... closed it and just stood there, while I patiently waited for the other color.

Meanwhile, my husband was picking out ties by himself, and the other female SA just stood there and looked at us without a word.

After 2-3 min. I asked her to see the other color, and she said she can't find it. I have never heard that kind of response before. I've heard, Sorry we don't have the other color at the moment, but "I can't find it?" I just thought it was a language thing and decided to let it go.

(2) Wallet.
I asked to see some wallets, and she said what kind. I said I'd like to see the Bearn wallet in trifold. She took out a blue jean Bearn wallet. I loved the color but it was a bifold, not a trifold. When I asked her again, she said they didn't have any trifold at the moment, and stared at my feet..

Then she all of a sudden she looked up, turned around and said something outloud in Japanese to the other standby SA, and they both giggled.

Ok, I don't know what she said, it could have been something completely irrelevant, I could be overly sensitive and over reacting, but you just get these gut feeling about the atmosphere, and the situation.

She turned and said: We only have a pink croc. Bearn in trifold!....(pause).... I dunno, I guess I was waiting for her to say, "would you like to see it?" but she said it in such a statement, as to imply that she'd rather not take it out unless I was sure to buy it/afford it.

All this time, which was a good 20 min after we walked into the store, the female SA who was just bumming around the floor staring at me and my Kelly, has not even offered to ask my husband for help who struggled to pick out 6-7 ties by himself, and I caught him picking up several that fell off the rack on to the floor..

By then I was appalled by the service. It was absurd. I wasn't going to buy anything from there so she can get her commission. I turned around and walked towards my husband. The SAs just stood there on the other side of the store started talking to each other as I walked away.

I told him we should go, he caught on quite fast and we walked out of the store. The SA only threw short glances our way.

I took out my digital camera, and started to take picture of the store. She freaked out and told me I Couldn't. LOL I completely ignored her and took 2 more as I walked out the store. She kepy repeating that I couldn't take pictures. I also stood outside the store and took pictures of all the show windows while they stared at me even more like I was psychotic. My husband laughed about it throughout the entire trip.
Everytime we passed the store, he jokingly asked if I wanted to go in there. LOL

They did have a good collection of bags on display, including the mini Kelly, but it was purple suede.
I saw the blue Jean Vespa, light green Evelyn, a Bolide in aqua, and many more bags I couldn't identify.. LOL

But forget about Birkin/Kelly... asking about them would have been a waste of my breath. The SA would have told me they didn't have any.

The next day I got into a conversation with another Korean woman, in her early 30s, at the hotel spa about Hermes and she also had a similar experience, but ended up buying a lot of stuff..... and she said once she was ready to spend around $8000, the SA became more attentive.. etc. and asked her if she's like a 32cm Black Kelly..she didn't remember the leather..

She offered to walk in with me, introduce me etc. but I refused. It wasn't worth it and since we can buy all these things back in VA, with lower tax % so what's the point?

Instead we went shopping together and I bought 2 pairs of Jimmy Choo shoes, a bathing suit from escada, a bag from chanel, and some LV shirts for my husband...

And guess what? My husband gambled and did quite well, so overall, all my shopping as well as all the shows we watched and the nice dinners at the restaurants were done free, our rooms for 5 nights and the buffet were complimentary, and all we paid for was the plane tickets. How awesome was the vacation?!?!

Here are some pictures I managed to take. some were too blurry to make out because I was taking them as I walked out.. but these I salvaged.
Enjoy~

OMG Joanna!! I feel for you!! How rude -- you've waited to go in and that is so uncalled for. And look - you had money to spend and they didn't want it - I don't understand - I would want to write a note to the manager!!! I'm soo glad you took the pics and ignored them - that was deserved!! Better luck at another store - the pics are nice btw!

HEE HEE, it's ok, I don't think much of it. I do admit I could be taking things completely out of proportion for I do not know what they were saying in Japanese... but I didn't feel comfortable, and that's that.

Oh, I am so sorry that you had that kind of experience at the store. I know the man that your refering to as sitting down talking on the phone. He also did that when I was there. He is also the store manager as I was told.

Well at least you did some shopping and saw some shows. The best thing is that you had a good time.

When I visited the store I'm telling you they were all so sweet and helpful and they helped me with everything I needed. She did want to push that Raisin Birkin on me but like I told her I don't like it in purple. But she left it alone and continued to shop with me. I wish they were to have been so nice to you as they were to me.

I know.. after your post Baggaholic, I had such high expectations. I'm sure it's because you look so fashionable right off the bat, and they could tell you got that aura of 'I work that piece of Hermes like I own da store' LOL......

Yup. Overall the trip was great.
I don't like gambling, but I must admit food, entertainment and shopping is fantastic there.

I am so sorry that you had a bad Hermes experience! That really was uncalled for. Good for you for not giving them your business! I am happy that you had a better experience at other stores and that you vacation was so much fun! Sounds like you had a great time!!! :D

I loved the food!!! It's better than my mother-in-laws italian home cooking!!! Shh,.. "don't tell her I said that"

Well maybe the next time you go there you'll see Ronnie,.. she's a sweetheart. I just can't believe they treated you that way.

When I walk into Hermes,.. any Hermes,. I walk with my head up and act like I own the store. And never ask for help I demand it! It's not can you please help me with this. It's come here and show me this. Sorry to sound snooty but that's how I treat stuck-up sales reps. especially if they're not doing anything. There is no excuse for it. Everyone should be treated with respect.

Thanx crochetbella...
I just hope others who head there take Baggaholic's advice and have a better experience than me!

Joanna:

I am sorry, what a horrible experience. There is no excuse for that kind of rudeness, especially to someone as nice as you. At least the rest of your vacation went well. Thanks for posting the pictures.

A couple of questions, how was the hotel?? And the spa?? I am thinking of taking a trip to Vegas and I am trying to decide between the Bellagio and the Venetian.

I am so sorry you were treated that way, Joanna. I just can't understand it. Would somebody please explain it to me? When I went into Hermes in Manhasset they were not this bad but they definitely had an attitude and had a forced smile. What gives? I want to add a Birkin and Kelly in my collection, but I really don't like not being able to enjoyshopping/buying experience. I'm curious if they treat ALL customers this way. I have an older friend who is a legend in the music industry. I plan on going to Hermes with him in November when I'm out in CA visiting him on my way to Hawaii. I'm curious to see how he will be treated.

I had a similar experience, but not as rude and bad as yours at this boutique last year. I couldn't quite figure them out..The woman trying to ignore me was European. I really start to get annoyed when SA s in any store (in this country) speak in their language. It is totally rude. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if you had gone in again with your new Korean shopping friend, but I totally understand why you didn't. Sort of reminds me of the scene from PRETTY WOMAN when she returns to the shop where they had previously ignored her!

Kat, I am going to be nasty here...what I say to the DH is "Who the hell do they think they are? They're (most likely) going home to their crappy apartment so it must make their day to be rude to people who can afford the product in their store!"

OMG diana grace..
I can go on and on about the spa at the Bellagio.
Although this is my first time at Bellagio and never stayed at the Venetian... so I'm most definitely biased.. I love Bellagio for all its ammenities including the SPA and Jean phillip patisserie.

the spa is HUGE I couldn't even count how many rooms they have... and the list of available service was so extensive I can't possibly remember what they had. Oh wait, I'll look up on their website and see if they have it online...

Anyways.. I received 2 massages
One was the shiatsu where this masseuse stands on you and literally take steps on you while she holds on to the pole on the cveiling and the pressure is heavenly. I always ask for a male masseuse because the famale masseues just can't use anough pressure for me, but this was awesome and exotic!

The other was a one with the coconut milk therapy with massages focused on the shoulder and the neck, and my skin became so smooth I didn't need a body lotion even adter I took a shower the next day.

But you HAVE to book them in advanced or the first thing whn you get there because they get all filled up fast.
