I was looking for an easy reference for these, and unlike color codes and date codes, we don't have a dedicated thread that's searchable (mods please delete/blend if we do).

These are the codes for bag and SLG hardware. They will usually appear on receipts and online next to the color code (as in, Fauve with PHW is CK34).

Please cut and paste and add any others (guilloche and diamond, for instance, I do not know the codes).

CK Palladium/Palladié

CC Gold/Or

CP Permabrass/Permabrass

CD Rose gold/Or rosé

CB Brushed palladium/Palladié brossé

CC Brushed gold/Or brossé

From my notes, I have

CG for diamonds
CM for Brushed Gold
CY for Black ruthenium
Yes! Sorry for the typo on or brossé.

I know that usually stainless steel has a silver color but in this case, is this a gold color kind of hardware? Thank you
When H has used stainless/inox as in the Cavale strap you asked about and that @momoc posted (and in, for instance, equestrian gear and dog collars/leashes, although these don't cite the hardware code in the product description) it is the steel color we are all familiar with. This is easily visible in the product image so I am not sure why you're asking?

Stainless steel will only be gold in color if plated with gold or a gold alloy. It's not the greatest mix of metals IMHO and does not wear well. It's not something I can see Hermès using, although in fact it's not uncommon for fake bags to have stainless steel under a plating.

I’m sorry to have asked about this because I’m confused myself. In this picture, for example, it says stainless steel ( acier inoxydable) as well, but the hardware is clearly more like gold than silver and the reference is also CJ. I didn’t mean to offend anyone. Sorry about that. IMG_1724.jpeg

Never take Hermes website pictures or descriptions with too much significance. They are carelessly done and often amusingly inaccurate.

No offense at all! I can understand the question now. Maybe H uses coated steel, maybe it’s the vicissitudes of the H website.
