Please clarify for me. I've been hearing different information on the classic orange color. That it has been retired but someone I know bought an orange Kelly only a few months ago. Why would they retire their signature color?

I'd also like to know. I thought I had heard somewhere Potiron was not currently in production but not completely retired as they would bring it back at some point. I have not heard anything about classic orange however. I can't imagine them completely retiring it, but maybe just discontinuing production of it for the time being?

As was correctly stated above, both Orange and Potiron are currently "rested". All that means in Hermes terms are that these colors are not available for current orders, not that they're retired or gone forever.

I'm waiting for an orange birkin 35 which I ordered last year after I had been offered one in 40 and noticed that it was too big for me.

In summer the SA told me, her experience says I will have it at the end of the year or at the beginning of the knew year.
Didn't she know that orange would be "rested" or do you think I should call her and ask for information?
If nobody knows when orange will be available again, I will change my order. :nogood:

I know that 'orange' has been replaced by poppy orange this season. It's definitely brighter than the original. Even feu is not offered this season as far as I've heard... but correct me, if I'm mistaken...

Orange Poppy is indeed the Orange being offered this season and in my opinion is the prettiest orange color yet. That still "might" not preclude your regular Orange from showing up if it was previously ordered for you. However it is my experience that with rested colors you are not really sure of an order going through, unless your boutique's Managing Director has told you otherwise. I would check with your SA and maybe switch to Orange Poppy if you want to be assured of receiving it sooner.

thanks for your answer :smile1:
do you have bags/wallets in both colours? i would loooove to see both colours side by side in one picture. comparing different pictures might be tricky because of the different light/filter/daytime…
would be so much help! :D

I would be more than happy to take a pic for you but I won't be able to until next week.
In the meantime I would say that in order to get a general idea, H Orange is very close to the color of the Hermes box, while Orange Poppy has a much stronger red undertone and is maybe deeper if that makes sense. When viewed next to each other, the differences become much more obvious but when looked at on their own, both are clearly just orange! I wouldn't even say one was "brighter" than the other, just different.;)
