Hi. I just bought my first birkin last week. I got a birkin 30 Craie in Epsom leather gold hardware. It was my second choice because my first choice is Etoupe. Upon seeing it I was so stunned so I bought it but later on I realized it is too fragile for me to handle for I have two toddlers. I just want to know if anyone knows a place where I can swap my birkin? Thank you

Oh gosh...that’s at the top of my wishlist! There are Facebook groups who do swaps. Good luck!

omg it's f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s!

would you wear it until it gets dirty & then dye it? is it possible to correctly dye birkins??

Thanks. Actually I don’t want to use it. I would rather swap or sell it. I’m just afraid that Hermès won’t offer me another Birkin if they don’t see me using one of their bags because I’m planning to order again after 6 months. ❤️

If it’s within the time frame and you haven’t used it, take it back to your boutique and exchange it.

I would suggest exchanging this Birkin, assuming you are still within the time frame. Your boutique should be happy to find you a different color.
Finding someone with a brand new B in a color, size, and HW you want, that you know is authentic and who wants your Craie bag, could take a while. Plus if your store sees you carrying a different B, they'll just assume you sold the Craie.

Very good points.

HUGE danger in swapping H bags with strangers. At least with money transactions there are certain safeguards and laws that apply. I would strongly advise against it.

I agree with @Hermes Nuttynut and @QuelleFromage. Contact your SA immediately and make clear your reservations, ask humbly if there is a more 'friendly' colour available.

As for the colour, IME a light neutral that is not impossible to keep clean, I have a vintage Ivory H bag that the craftsperson cleaned excellently, enough even to wear to my final graduation. I also have several white and ivory bags from other brands including one in ostrich, basically you just clean them a bit more often. And if you're going to buy a second B in 6 moths why not just put this one as a 'best Birkin' and choose one that's more practical the next time like the Etoupe.

There are many consignment online and bricks and mortar stores available in Europe such as Collector's Square and Lavellov etc. Consigning with a reseller is by far the safest route to go down if H don't want to change it.
