The short answer is no - not soft. A lovely decorative piece but one can definitely feel the wool.

There is a 100% version of the Avalon but it's not available in as many colors and is 3 or 4 times the price of the woollen one.

Thank you. I suspected as much, but hoped otherwise. We've the opportunity to pick one up previously loved for a fraction. I want it just to have, but she says it's silly if it's no softer than the other one.

The color is nice, our couches are little more yellow/cream than the sellers.

fml. I just sent the lady a offer..

I tried the AT thread yesterday. Got booted out (too many AT requests), contacted a Hermes authentication service and she doesn't do blankets. Figured as I bought from this lady, who's a shopaholic and had other stuff check out before. I'd be ok. But.. if I haven't seen the color combo and your statement about the texture being off.. It's enough to walk away.

sigh. Now I want one though.

I am NOT an authenticator, but I have to say that I was surprised when I saw your photos on the AT thread - the blanket looks much more rough/pilled than I would expect. It just feels "off". I think you were wise to walk away.

I recently bought the Ms a couple 100% cashmere scarves, the big wrap around style ones. They're wonderfully soft. What I'd expect of cashmere, it's good to know a blanket of similar feel exists. I'll take a look for it. Sad this didn't work out. Guess it's that if it's too good to be true bit.

if you want soft, have you looked into the velvet throws? it has stunning colors in the Le Pegase design that i have seen, not sure if it comes in other designs too...

I am a knucklehead - I have been petting one of these velvet throws at my boutique for weeks and it never occurred to me that it was velvet! It is absolutely sublime - it is funny to watch people walk by, reach out to touch it and then skid to a halt to examine it more closely! There are other designs other than La Pegase...:graucho:

i know it is divine! i have one and i want to carry it around the house with me at all times :p what other designs have you seen?
