I am really petite, the strap is still long for me even adjusted to the shortest length.
Here is how I adjust it.

I loop the strap inside out from the string in both side. The current length is perfect. Hope this is helpful for you guys.

I followed your example JetSetGo and knotted mine the same way today. The knot brushes against my hair though, I'm trying to get used to it.

Anybody managed to punch more holes to shorten the straps? None of the cobbler I asked has the tools for punching more holes. They all said that the hole is too big for their tools.

I suggest not to do this.

I had this mind before but: 1. it is unlikely for me to punch 3 holes nicely; 2. Once you punched new holes, you have to use them forever, coz it is very to tell those are different holes if you don't use them; 3. if the distance of every two holes is not controlled well, you can't use it either.

I've just done this on my regular bucket too and love that it is slightly shorter and just easier to pick up.

Thanks for posting this, I like my strap more like a tote strap and I have been knoting it. but the knot is always on the side by my arm and at times bugs me, so like you I put it under the tie AND I put the knot under the tie too. Great idea!

Great idea, thanks Vivian! I want my tumble bucket to hang just a smidge shorter so this should work.
