Does anyone have any items from Henry’s? If so, how is the quality?

Autumn has done some recent videos on their bags.

I have four. Two foldovers, a mini and regular size and two buckets in different sizes. The leather is fantastic on the new bags and the older, larger bucket.

This is the Henry's Foldover Crossbody. At first these bags didn't quite catch my eye. But then I watched some videos about Henry's, and I really came to like this style. With the 30% off on Dooney right now, I was able to stack that with my 25% off coupon, and I couldn't pass up the price. There is a larger size called the North South Foldover Crossbody. I'm putting together an unboxing/reveal video for this bag. But so far, I am extremely happy with this purchase. The pebble grain seems to be much thicker than the D&B PG (I compared it to my small zip satchel), which also adds some weight to this little bag. I like it, because it seems very durable. I like the buckle to open/close the bag, it gives the bag a look very unique look. Some YT'ers have said this is palladium, and that Peter Dooney used the same tannery that Hermes does. This bag is not a everything & the kitchen sink bag; I can fit my necessary items in here: kisslock, planner, Airpods, small charging block, coin purse. There is a slip pocket inside the bag, and on the backside of the bag. Unfortunately the slip pocket is a bit slim, and my iPhone 14 Pro in a case-mate case, would only fit vertically and the top 1.5" of my phone is exposed. With my items inside the bag, I was able to put my iPhone in there. The web strap seems thicker than the Toscana strap, I'd compare it to seatbelt material, and the strap is adjustable. Unfortunately, the straps aren't removeable. The inside of the bag is a manila folder color leather (look at the post above mine, and you can see a bit of that color peeking out of the mini foldover. I found the leather inside to be soft, although I'd have preferred it be the raw suede like in the small bucket bag. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase. I've been so happy with my Florentine Messenger, I'd like to add the Crossbody to my collection as well.

Kilty it’s sooooooooo stinking cute! I’m so glad you love it! The color is a very nice vibrant red. The leather looks thick and luxurious. Look at that luxe dustbag! This is AWESOME! I caint wait to see your unboxing. On the inside, your phone would fit laying down against the back wall? Is there any inside pockets like dooneys have?

Enjoy your new handbag. Every review I see or YT video is very positive
on the Henry's line.

I wish Dooney had more styles in the Henry's line.
I want to buy one but can't find the style I think will work for me.... at a price
I'm willing to pay for another handbag to add to my already too large collection.
I need the excitement of the right style/color or a fabulous price. .. or the correct
moment of insanity.... whichever comes first.

Alright my Dooney friends.

Let’s talk Henry’s. Here’s my review of the Foldover bag.

I reached out to Dooney through the repair section, and sent them some pix of the bag. They sent me a UPS return label. So it looks like they’re going to fix the bag.

I sent the bag off today. I’ll update through this process.

I did talk with DooneyCraze (CoachCraze) in the comments; she said the stitching is a common problem with the bags made in Italy. And she doesn’t think any of the bags are made in the US anymore.

It's disappointing that you ran into stitching problems after such limited use of the bag.
From what I have seen in other posts, over the years, Dooney's repair service is
excellent and this type of stitching problem is easily fixed.

Thanks for the thorough review. I don't own any Henry's bags, yet.... mainly because
I look for hand held styles and haven't found one that works for me. I have a very
large Dooney collection, from many years of purchasing. On the whole, the quality of
the Dooney handbags is excellent. But like any company, they do slip up at times.
But much less so than in other brands I've purchased, at comparable or more expensive
price points. Personally, I find the quality of the craftsmanship and leather quality consistently better on Dooney than on other contemporary brands. And watching YT videos, it seems that even the luxury $$$$ brands have quality issues these days.

We have a right to expect higher quality on the more expensive, or better lines,
from a brand. For Dooney, that's Henry's, Alto, and Florentine. Handbags made
in Italy used to be associated with high quality and old world craftsmanship.
In today's world we learn of more and more luxury companies using factories located in Italy being staffed/run by subcontractors whose workers are not old world craftsmen/craftswomen.

I still prefer Made in USA Dooney handbags... for many reasons.... qualilty being
just one of them. Of course, I'm envisioning the same Dooney manufacturing
workshops in Connecticut of years gone by. Things might have changed.

I definitely prefer the made in US bags.

I wanted to note - These bags do not come with a registration card. The Dooney Guarantee is on every item in Henry’s line. I just filled out the information they asked for, from my order.

Here’s the link, should anyone need to use it.
But I really like the bags. The quality of the leather is great. I’m holding out for another sale to get the large Henry’s crossbody.
