hey guys. i receieved a ring from my grandmother for graduation. It has a bunch of stones in them that are supposed to be diamonds, but in the back of the box it says "diamondique". i thought diamondique meant fake...

diamondique is definitely fake diamonds right?:confused1:

TIA!!!!!!

Yes - it's most likely something she bought on QVC. Take a look at QVC.com and you might be able to find it. Their stones are often set in 10 and 14k gold, so it's probably a very wearable ring (it won't turn your finger green).

Congrats on your graduation!

Yep. Or it could be platinum plated. I like a lot of their diamonique stuff. You can have studs or whatever (in a reasonable size) and not worry about damage or losing them- and try out new shapes/cuts w/o spending $$. I think they look real, if not a crazy size.

If you didn't want it b/c it is CZ, they'd probably let you exchange and they've got lots of stuff and I think a lot of it is actually quite nice.

Your grandma bought you a graduation gift which is very very nice of her. Be gracious about it.

Some of the diamonique line is beautiful by the way and very believable. I'm sure its a beautiful ring. Wear and enjoy, its "real" jewelry even if it isnt a real diamond.

Dont worry what it is, just remember it was the thought that was put into it everytime you look at it, and like guccimamma said you wont always have a grandmother.

I agree with the rest, make sure she knows how much you love and appreciate the gift& her.

As a side note i sincerely hope your gran did buy ring and pay the full price believing that it was a genuine diamond. Maybe their is a subtle way for you to find out or maybe your mum can ask, i don't know.

The prices are a SO much less than real diamonds. I have a pair of stud earrings that I wear that are princess cut, 1.5 ct equivalent and I paid $20. So, I don't think we have to worry about grandma paying diamond prices for CZ.
