I'll be wearing a sleeveless black velvet dress that ends a few inches above my knees. I love the dress but I absolutely hate my upper arms. ( I swear that this is the only place I gain both muscle and weight easily, so they are bulky.) I'd like to wear a shawl over my arms and shoulders, but I need suggestions for what material that shawl should be, if it matters. The only shawl I have is a lightweight black cotton and I keep looking at it and don't think it looks good i.e. not dressy enough.
