Help With Cocktail Rings

Hi Everyone!

I am still fairly new to the whole cocktail ring. I would like to start wearing cocktail rings more often because it's so much fun. What's the general rule of thumb about wearing them? Does it have to correlate to my outfit? For instance, I am planning on wearing a royal blue dress. I have not decided on what color shoes yet -- it's a toss up between red and magenta for now, but it will be one or the other. I have a citrine ring and a ruby ring. If I wear the red shoes, will my citrine ring work with the entire outfit? The citrine really pops against the blue. The ruby also pops nicely against the blue. Does the ruby work better if I go with the red shoes? Which ring to go with if I end wearing the magenta shoes? When it comes to cocktail rings, does it really matter which I go with?

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

You can do whatever you want, whatever looks good to you! I like both matching and contrasting colors. Either citrine or ruby would look good with the blue dress, you could also do a sapphire or blue topaz. If you wear red shoes it might be cute to wear the ruby to tie in the red, but you certainly don't have to do this. If you wear magenta shoes I would probably choose the citrine unless your ruby is a pinkish color because if it is too red it may clash.
