Hi everyone!!!! My bf and I are soon to be engaged..hooray :D I have a few questions and would loveee to know your opinions/advice!! I have a 1ct round diamond that has been passed down to me and that is the stone which we will be using.

I have really been interested in more of a cushion cut setting but have doubts about using my round stone. I have heard such mixed things that I would like to know your opinions. I love this ring. However the maker said that it can NOT accomadate a round stone. However I have seen many rings with the exact same shape with a round stone inside. Do you think I am taking a chance by buying this ring and having an other jeweler set the round stone? I will post the rings I have seen with the round stone in another post. Thank you ladies!!

Ok so now you have seen the cushion cut settings. Do you think I would be better off sticking to settings that are specifically made for a round stone? These are some settings I like with a round stone. What do you think??

Basically my main goal is to make the most of the 1ct stone. I am in love with halo settings (as you probably noticed). I am looking for at least a little bit of "wow" factor :p

Are they any other types of settings you might suggest??

Thank you so much in advance for your help!!! :D

I guess u like the cushion setting, looks IDENTICAL to tiffany legacy setting i love that.but i strongly think u should stick to a setting meant to be for round stones. They do have tiffany legacy settings for round stones out there that would fit the stone better and still get the "look"

Minina, You're ring is gorgeous!!!!!!!!! WOW!!! If you don't mind me asking, how many carats is your stone? Mine is slightly smaller than a carat. Do you think a double halo might work better for me? Also I have very small fingers so even though my stone isn't too big I feel as though it looks bigger on my finger.

Nic14 Here's mine... My husband and I designed it this way cause he loves round for the sparkle and I LIKE square (princess cut) But I agreed with him on the round center because it does sparkle more then any other cut and it is one of the most expensive cuts. Princess cut is marked up cause it it popular, but that's another story. I hope you can see the picture, cause I rarely post pictures cause I don't know what I am doing. LOL. Anyways I hope this helps.
Specs: Total 3cts
Center Round 1.96 (2.00) cts color G
Setting 1ct

PS, the pic was taken on a carmera phone, not the best.

You're ring is beautifulllllll First Lady :D I guess what I am going to have to do is just bring my stone in with me when I try on the settings to see what I like best. But it's great to see the different options I can do with my round stone. I had no idea that the round diamond has the most sparkle. That makes me happy!! hehe I am almost positive that I will deff. get a halo setting..as Mininana said..it deff. makes the stone look a lot larger. Thanks for your help as well!!

I like this type of setting because there isnt too much stuff going on. When you put anything more than this around the diamond, it starts to take away from the center stone. Goodluck!;)

Thanks for all your help!! I think I'm going to stick with a round setting for my round stone. I think I've narrowed it down to these settings. The first one is very similar to yours Mininana :D What do you all think??
