Help - which setting

Please help! I have my 3-carat emerald set on a plat halo... but I keep on seeing a 3-carat with trapezoids in both sides online being posted all the time and I am havjng a change of heart. Which one looks better in your opinion?
PS my hand is not as nice and filtered.

Your diamond is beautiful. I prefer step cuts to be set with other step cuts. For me visually, I don’t like them with RBC halos. My choice would be for option no 1.

Your emerald cut is beautiful but to my eye the halo detracts from that cool icy glare. Love Emerald cuts with trapezoids.

They're both so beautiful, but as much as I love the halo, it's too popular now and I feel it's a trend that will appear and be perceived as dated over time... The first ring is not only magnificent, but it's also timeless.

I completely agree with the previous posters. Your EC is absolutely gorgeous (I’m also an EC girl!), and would look phenomenal in the first setting. A stone like yours does not need to be in a halo, which to be completely honest, kind of detracts from your incredible EC. The more simple setting with the traps would just enhance the beauty of your center stone.
Please post pictures of you decide to do a reset!

The first one! There’s a smooth transition from main stone and it just looks more appealing. If you feel like changing, you should go for it.

Looks like I’m a dissenting voice here, I dislike the trapezoid diamonds. I much prefer the second ring.
