I have just came back from my 3weeks long holiday in the US, it was amazing as usual..but something went horribly wrong...
basically I have to take 3 of my birkins with me(because I need to do tax refund,so i have to have the bags with me) as we know birkin 35 is quite big and I can't carry all three of them with me ...so I pack them in the checked baggage, I try to stuff them with clothes also with the bubble... However when I open my suitcase in the hotel, they have all changed the shapes........ I can't even look at the Togo one...it was horrible!!!

I really need your advice on:how to travel with the birkin without damaging it ?????

TIA!!!!

Sorry to hear about your bags. I'd suggest you restuff your Bs immediately to their normal shape and lay it down on their backside for 2-3 days. Check out this thread about stuffing birkin http://forum.purseblog.com/hermes/birkin-newbie-perplexed-pls-help-816585.html

I never checked my bags but have read some members mentioned packing a bag in its orange box (stuffed with air pillows, etc.) and then you can roll up some of your clothes and put in the box so your box doesn't take up all the room in the luggage. You'll need some kind of barriers around a bag like a box to protect it from being crushed inside a suitcase.

For next trip, may be you can carry one and then put another 2 in a carry on?

G'luck!

Not to worry, they do regain their shape. Especially the soft togo.
I took my gold birkin to a France Tour recently. and when I got back. simply put it back in it's box, stuff it with some soft fabric, and I noticed that the shape came back. :-)

If you could please do a search? There are several threads on travelling with Birkins, helping them regain their shape, etc., and you will likely find your answer in one of the existing ones.

Thanks.
